President Donald Trump - J.D. Vance Administration

They are gerrymandering, which they have every right to try to do.

But the rules require a quorum, and the Dems have every right to block the gerrymandering my scooting and depriving them of the quorum.

I can envision no law whereby they'd have to present themselves in the state, or at the state house, and which could pass constitutional muster. So, the Dems are likewise entitled to do what they are doing.

But they shouldn't have that right.

Questions For the Liberals:

1). Should a non-citizen be allowed to vote?
2). If found, should fraud be eliminated within Medicaid/Medicare?
3). Should males be allowed to compete in women’s sports?
4). Should we defund the police?
1. No
2. Yes.
3. No.
4. No.

This is not hard. You are conflating some views from the far left with the party's view writ large. The only one where there was real debate was on #3, where most were of the view that the question was not a legal one for politicians to decide. If some private sports org wants to allow biological males to compete as females, that was for the org to decide. That used to be the view of Republicans by the way - let these private orgs do what they want to do. If the South Sarasota biking organization wants to allow a biological man compete in the women's division of the Sarasota century race, isn't that for the South Sarasota biking organization to decide?

Good point. I should have been more clear regarding traditional NCAA / professional sports.

The NCAA is a private not for profit. Do you want the government telling them how to run their events? Seems kinda "commie" (as you guys use that term), doesn't it?

It seems very representative of that. How is it not?

NC is pretty much a 50/50 state. Take off the partisan blinders. Look at how they have minimized the Greensboro, Fayetteville areas. They have a little geographic notch for no reason under Charlotte to get another R seat.

IL was drawn like trash, MD was drawn like trash, TN is drawn like trash. TX is drawn like trash. NC was drawn like trash.

It's wrong when both sides do it. Not to bury your head in the sand when your side blatantly does it..

And you probably believed that Biden was as „sharp as a tack“ and that vaccines protected against Covid didn’t you?

I wouldn't worry about it too much, he thought a face diaper was protection against a virus and he said I would paying for $12 lettuce.

Kind of like this in Maryland?

Don’t believe the Republicans ran away when it was time to vote for this.

Again, someone once said “elections have consequences”.
"elections have consequences "

WTF elections should be held to select a candidate who represents all the people, for the good of all citizens. To the republican mind elections are a means to punishment those who are not like them.
Gerrymandering is a means to deny citizens of representation. One big reason so many don't bother to vote, as their vote doesn't matter.

Nothing. I hat is wrong with YOU? Is obstructing congressional business illegal, yes or no?

Getting on a bus and going out of state to prevent a quorum is not illegal, and a law or action trying to prevent it or arrest and bring them back would be a violation AT LEAST the 1st, 4th, and 14th amendments.

Breaking into the Capitol and threatening public officials, or assaulting and battering police officers who get in your way? Yes. That would be illegal.

The degree or nature of the obstruction is irrelevant to the definition of the offense.

See above.

Both of these have the same root transgression; refusal to accept the outcome of an election leading to the halting of legitimate government business. Stopping a vote by not participating has the exact same effect as a riot. The. Vote. Does. Not. Occur.
I thought you claimed to be an attorney?

The two are not remotely the same. On any level. On any planet. In any universe. In any dimension.

True they are vastly different from an optics standpoint; but 100% identical from the standpoint of their effect, obstructing legitimate congressional proceedings.
But hey, your side ignored Jamal Bowman pulling a fire alarm to scuttle a congressional vote so I shouldn’t be surprised that this doesn’t trouble you in the least either.
But it is 100% in line with the democrat motto “It’s (D)ifferent when we do it”

An election can mean WHATEVER the voters want it to mean. You know “democracy” and all that.
Don’t act all holier than thou; like democrats don’t routinely vote to “punish those not like them”. As a matter of fact, the last three presidential elections have centered around nothing besides a democrat obsession to “punish Trump and his followers”.
Politics is always politics and there has NEVER been a time when voters nobly went into the booth to objectify vote for the better person. All the way back to Greek and Roman times, elections have always been about tribalism and self interest. Wake up and smell the coffee.
Your side LOST and now you have to deal with it; just like we did for the past four years.

You trying to equate Texas state lawmakers using a quorum rule to avoid a vote on allowing Texas congressional representatives to be gerrymandered out of office, and MAGA supporters invading the US Capitol Building in an attempt to stop the certification of the 2020 election through violence, is an act of 'willful suspension of disbelief' that is truly amazing to behold.

You literally voted for candidates that used the government against a President elect, a sitting President and former President, and you continue to support all that nonsense.

You condoned those tactics and you still didn't get what you wanted.

Lots (most?) of those schools receive at least some government money. That's why Title IX has played such a big role.

That was before the last round of gerrymandering.

What you really need to do is look at the street by street level of gerrymandering that goes on.

In Memphis, there is a good hole in the wall restaurant called Bryants. Less than 2 miles South is the University of Memphis. If you drive South down Graham towards the U of M, you might switch from the 9th (Cohen) district to 8th (R district) up to 7 times.

Which district are you calling an extra cut out near charlotte? To me it seems appropriate to have charlotte as its own district given the size
