For one thing, I have consistently referred to not just McConnell, but to "Senate Republicans."

But yes, McConnell absolutely did say that a Supreme Court vacancy during an election year, should be filled by the President who wins that election. He made that clear in his quote when he said that the American people should have a voice in who selects the next Supreme Court Justice.

So, on top of being stubborn, ignorant, and having too much pride to admit when you are wrong .... your reading comprehension skills are on the level of the average 3rd grader. Or am I giving you too much credit? Probably so.

Bull. He didnt "grow" the existing company. He sold off Fred's stuff and used the money to fund his projects. Him and Fred invested in different stuff. Fred was a slum lord that loved cash flow. 400 million is 400 million and is one hell of a head start.

Literally, Trump got have set half the money he inherited aside for hookers and blow and put the other half in a S&P index fund and he would have been better off.

It's very easy to grow and maintain it over decades unless there is a lazy or dumb descendant. DJT isnt either of those.

DJT gets credit is that he used his legal and tax teams (just like Fred) to protect his downside.

But inheriting several hundred million of real estate, selling it off to fund your company and becoming a billionaire with decades of market appreciation isnt that impressive.

He gets credit for protecting his downside, not being dumb, and not being lazy. But the numbers do not support that achieved market or market beating returns over 40-50 years nor the self made billionaire persona.

That is 100% saying that the vacancy shouldn't be filled during an election year. You are being stubborn and simply unable to admit when you are wrong. It's childish as hell.

“The vacancy”, not any vacancy. You’re pretending he stated some firm belief that he later went against. That never happened. At no point did he say this should never occur. Rather he said republicans didn’t want to do it and therefore they’d wait until after the election.

When they had control, they did want to do it, so they did.

No, it doesn't change anything in regards to what McConnell said in February of 2016. Republicans controlled the Senate in 2016, as well. Mitch McConnell made no exceptions in 2016 for the President and the party in control of the Senate being from the same party. I have addressed that in multiple posts now. I'm not ignoring anything. That is a lie. McConnell said that the American people should decide who fills a vacant Supreme Court seat during a presidential election year in 2016, but then rushed through the confirmation of Amy Coney Barrett in October of 2020.

He said the senate did not want Obama filing the position and therefore it should be left up to the people. You’re ignoring the context, intentionally to try proclaiming McConnell held some contradictory position. He did not.

The senate did not want Obama to fill that position, so they waited. In 2020, the senate did want Trump fill the position. So they didn’t.

You’re intentionally trying to take a single line out of context.
