Federalize elections, get rid of state's Constitutional rights, and having the bureacucrats/employees at the DMV determine who can ultimately vote (since this is the end game for Real ID for the Rs)....

Which of these is a conservative principle?

Ask yourself why this is happening. If your conclusion is anything other than the 15 million illegal people Biden flew into the country you’re lying to us.

Real ID was originally passed in 2005...

Ill put you down as a Trump supporter who will support large govt and more regulations because Trump told you to.

A group could only be disenfranchised within a state, what you are proposing is giving the federal govt the power to disenfranchise that group nationwide.

Yes it was passed. And kicked down the road for years. I’ll put you down as someone who closed their eyes when Biden flew in 15 million illegals to change the voting landscape

Feds are not taking over elections. If a state wants to use the DB I am sure they can for election security.

The ACT as passed years ago and now it looks like to be enforced. If you remember, the ACT was passed not long after 9/11 and shoe bombers on planes.

There's Noem dressed in a cowboy hat and a Border Patrol jacket riding horseback as she accompanied Border Patrol Del Rio Horse Patrol Unit.

Another photo shows the secretary riding an ATV.

Inside the department, The Journal found, some staffers consider Noem more of a spokesperson than a traditional agency leader.

The perception is heightened by Noem's nearly constant travel schedule, where D.C.-based staffers only see her a few hours a week.

That has 'irritated many at DHS,' The Journal said.

Prior to The Journal's report, several conservative women were already calling out Noem for playing dress-up on the job.

Agreed they can. The how in securing elections from my point of view is that I have more faith in this DB being more accurate that the voter registration DBs in CA, IL, MA, NY, NJ, WA, OR, MN, MD, PA, ME, VT, etc. The states will option to use the DB I suppose or stick with what they have to support their elections.

I can’t even fathom having faith in any federal government database. What makes you think it couldn’t or wouldn’t be manipulated?

Is it perfect --- no.
Is it better than the voter DBs in the states I listed for more secure elections - yes.
Would a non-citizen think twice in getting a Real ID - yes

I renewed my license a couple years ago. They asked if I wanted to do the real id. The only difference was paying $25 vs $10.

13 states don't require an ID. Only 1 is a swing state, the remainder are all solid blue states. Feds should guarantee fair elections since the states won't.
