The mob is fickle.
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard that “the republicans will never recover and the party is dying “ or “The Democrats have lost all credibility and they will never win again…”.

In my mind someone new will pop up like Obama did and be the next great Democrat hope. They will sway enough independents like OBama/Trump did and the swing voters will end up disappointed and jumping back to the other side…..all while the Status quo is maintained and nothing gets better.
