the BTP was protesting a tax that the BEI lobbied for, and collected. the BTP was a direct action against a specific policy carried out by a specific entity.

the only way this would have been similar to the BTP is back during the EV mandate if Tesla/Elon had lobbied for it. and the only EVs you could have bought were Teslas.
