Premiere League & World Soccer Thread

Three total posts on this board and already flying in from the top rope. I’ll vouch for him though. He really is a City supporter from the pre-Mansour era who just happened to win the lottery in this particular case.
Lol, I’m just happy to find an actual active board with so many different topics and forums.

I can respect long time fans. Hats off to you @Outofmyvolcanmind

I know we’re heading into a week off from PL games and that makes for a logical time for a managerial change, but if I were Spurs I would have waited till after the game with Arsenal to sack Frank. They’re likely to lose that one no matter what, so maybe try and get the new manager bounce for the next two games against Fulham and Palace which are much more winnable.
It’s a North London Derby at home. If we kept Frank, the atmosphere would’ve turned toxic as soon as we were down two goals. It was already bad enough the last couple home games.

As an Everton fan, would you really be content with just throwing in the towel against Liverpool? As great as Arsenal have been this year, it’s not impossible for us to draw against them at home (even with our injury/suspension list). They aren’t as good as some of those peak Liverpool and City teams who cracked 100 points.

I think most Spurs fans just want to see a little fight out of our squad. The sooner that happens the better. New manager bounces typically last a month or two anyway.

At this point Madonna’s daughters may be on the men’s squad by then.

Forest, wow. Over/under on how many managers to finish the season?

Who wouldn’t want to work for Marinakis?
On one hand, moving on to your fourth manager and it’s only February is wild. On the other, two points from Palace, Leeds, Wolves when you’re in a relegation battle is pretty disastrous.

Dyche in North London to finish out the season probably.
Igor Tudor it is, I guess. We’ll see how this goes; I hope it works. I’ve never watched his teams play but most of his career has been in Italy so I would assume counterattacking will be our new style.

Just for clarity here, Leicester are appealing with obvious hopes of having their points deduction reduced, while the PL are appealing with the hope of the deduction being INCREASED. Meanwhile, they currently sit in the relegation zone and have just 14 games left this season. What a mess.

Red Card FC strikes again. Game firmly in control, smothering Burnley to where they haven’t even made it out of their half of the pitch the first 20 minutes of the second half and then we go and get a red. Game changes, burnley equalize in stoppage time. Shameful the level of immaturity on this team at times.

Could be worse. I am rooting against West Ham since I have my eye on the relegation zone.

Different verse, same as the first. To be fair we are missing like 6 out of the starting 11.

Hopefully City can catch them.

The dive was massively exaggerated, but I personally enjoyed it for what turned out to be a rare example of VAR being used exactly as it was originally intended. The on-field ref ruled the goal out for a foul in real time. The VAR glanced at it, and chose not to get involved. The whole thing was over and done before the Arsenal players had trotted back up field for the goal kick and the game never stopped. 10 out of 10 execution, as there was no clear and obvious error. Would have felt the same way if no foul been called and the goal was given. Those sorts of things are subjective calls that VAR was never intended to intervene on. We need more of that.
