First Crystal Palace, and now Spurs. Big week for small clubs winning silverware. I kid, i kid.

Not sure what to say about Ange staying/leaving, but after this I'd probably lean towards giving him another year.

Last year United won the FA Cup, which basically forced their hand into keeping Ten Hag when they really should have just moved on. But this doesn't feel quite like that. United have been poorly run for years, and they're currently in the middle of the reaping phase of all the terrible signings they've sown basically since SAF left the club almost 15 years ago.

Spurs on the other hand seem to have a decent squad, just hardly any of it ever saw the pitch this year due to an almost inconceivable amount of injuries. At some point continuity becomes the most important things and you have to stop changing managers every six months. Same issue Everton had for years before finally (re)discovering someone who seems to be a good fit.

My only thing with Ange is that I think he's got to focus a little more on locking things down at the back. Sure, the attacking stuff is fun to watch, but I don't think it's realistic to contend for the European places conceding 2-3 goals on a regular basis. In fairness, I haven't watched them a ton this year and he may have adapted somewhat. I've still got the image of him in my head from last season against Chelsea where they went down to 9 men and continued playing that suicidal high line. If Chelsea hadn't been on a historic run of poor finishing, they would have put 10 past Spurs that day.
He did a little bit of locking down in the latter stages of the Europa league. Whether or not he does that next season remains to be seen, but I hope so.

Continuing the high line in that Chelsea match was amusing at the time, the subsequent skid not so much. Plus, it could be a factor in the injuries. Van de Ven, who had the save of the season, is constantly running 100mph up and down the field.

I certainly will not try to guess what Levy will do.

Up until recently I thought if they win the Europa he has to stay. But the EPL form has been so bad, getting worse as the season progressed, I started wavering on that.

But in the euphoria of the win, yeah, I hope he stays. He clearly just threw the EPL season out early on focusing on keeping his 2nd year promise.

However, if City does not reduce the size of the squad, Pep…
There’s no telling what Levy will do but I’d like to see Ange get two more years at least and then we bring Poch and Harry back for one last try.

I’ll always remember him for the “I always win things in my second year” quote after the Arsenal game. And the fact that he backed it up was the icing on the cake. That’s the kind of blue-collar, *#%! you attitude that I hope starts to permeate throughout the club.

In my opinion, he has adapted a decent amount this season. He was very conservative on Wednesday, especially after we got the lead. I think he’s starting to become a bit more pragmatic, which I agree is necessary at this level to win consistently.

I also agree that we need some consistency at the club. Keeping him for another year, even if we finish 8th and don’t win anything, will probably still be good for the younger players’ development (Archie and Lucas in particular). We’ll see what Levy decides.

I can’t understand why Liverpool/Palace is the top game this week and on network NBC. The match itself is completely meaningless. Liverpool won the league two months ago, and Palace are locked into Europe because they won the FA Cup. Completely understand them wanting to do the live show from Anfield and cover the post-match title celebrations, but Forest/Chelsea is far and away the most meaningful game today.

This season has to be the lowest ever number of points required for survival. Someone could have stayed up with 26 points this year, and it was only that many because Leicester surged up to 25 with two wins and a draw in May.
Just looked up the table from the season Derby had 11 points. 18th & 19h place had 36 and 35 points.
