Premiere League & World Soccer Thread

I doubt it will either. I hope they’ll agree on some tweaks though. Goal line technology is fine, and has been for a while. Implement WC-style automated offsides (which I think they are already), only allow replays to be shown at full speed, limit reviews to 60 seconds. If you can’t decide that quick, it wasn’t clear and obvious and just go with the on-field ref’s call.
I'd be behind most of those. Idk what the normal time of a VAR review is per type of incident but it always feels like offsides takes the longest. Get the angle they want, get the freeze frame right, draw their lines, etc… it's just too much. There are plenty of other issues with VAR but having the offside technology from the WC would solve so much of what I hate about it already. Not all of it by any means, but it's a good start.

And of course in true PGMOL fashion they are getting the offsides technology…but it wont be in use until after the first fall international window..

Chelsea men's team may still be a work in progress but Chelsea womens team just capped off a dynasty like run. 5th League title in a row. They are going to miss Emma Hayes. Bittersweet though as I’m happy that if she is leaving it is to coach the US women's team at least. Lots of young talent to mold before the next world cup.

One club conspicuously missing from the animations.

“In spite out our best efforts to remove you from this league, you’re somehow still here. So we’ll just pretend like you aren’t.” What a bunch of absolute children.

Didn’t see the end of Arsenal/Everton, and only just now saw their winner. Obviously it didn’t matter because City had their game well in hand, but it would have been absolutely insane if Arsenal had won the league by being awarded the deciding goal in the first ever instance (I think) of an on-field ref ignoring what the VAR had instructed him to call.

Bravo on a great career Toni Kroos. One of the best midfielders of all-time, yet still seems like he doesn’t get the recognition that he deserves.

City’s season speaks for itself, and their current 35 match unbeaten run in all comps is truly amazing, so no shade…but Pep winning manager of the year is ridiculous. He took a squad that was miles better than the competition, both in quality and in depth, and won the league by two points on the final day.

IMO Emery getting Villa into the CL next season, and Dyche not only keeping that threadbare Everton team up, but getting them to nearly 50 points (on the field) were far more impressive accomplishments.

I have no idea if Sebastian Hoeness is a good manager or not, but holy smokes, I want Chelsea to hire him just for the name jokes.
