Predictions: Who does Lane start in the Swamp?

I would like to see Nick get experience now for next season except for one thing ...

It isn't realistic to expect Nick to excel his first game, especially at the swamp. He would undoubtly have his struggles at times, and then be bashed by the morons on this site and others, losing what confidence HE has in himself. Then we would have two head cases at QB instead of just one. Bad idea IMO.

If Stephens is serviceable, I think I would let him start next year and let Bray get a year in the weight room and learn the system, so he could come in and be ready to run the entire offense.

yea, just like you are now calling for STEPHENS TO PLAY
when he has a bad game you would be calling for Bray.

ea untile stephens has a game like crompton

we could ask you the same,or are you just giveing one of:rock2: those everyone has one deals????:moon2::shaking2:

What does this even mean? If you are talking about an opinion then yes it is my opinion that Stephens should be the starter. I was asking if there was actual quotes stating that Crompton would be the starting QB or if it was just someone asserting their opinion as an undeniable fact.

If it's a given that there's not much hope next week, and that it will likely be a romp, I'd say start Crompton again. Then let him turn the ball over (pun intended) to Stephens the following week for "a new season." Better to start over vs. Ohio, etc than to have your first start against Florida and have Stephens get shell-shocked as well.

Yes, because this is just one bad game from Crompton. We certainly have never seen him do this before. Look, either you don't watch football or you are a complete idiot if you think this is some sort of anomaly. I'm not much of a bandwagon jumper; we have watched this same crap from Crompton forever. If you're too dumb to see that, you have some real problems.

Crompton has one last game against the best team in the country to put up an admirable performance to save his job.

If the game goes like it should, the job goes to Stephens starting Ohio.

Thanks for the inside info, Coach Kiffin.

this game is a lost cause. So there is no reason to ruin Stephens confidance against the Gators. Let Crompton start under the guise of letting him redeem himself and after another abismal performance, bench him and let Stephens take over for the Ohio game.

And when all is said and done just pray for Bray!

We are putting an awful lot of hope on Bray. I hope that he is as good as what he is supposed to be. Coleman was a 4* recruit from what I remember as well. It wouldn't hurt my feelings to get another top notch QB in this class or the next.

I support the new coach, but if he was'nt gonna pull him after that debacle, he won't replace him Saturday. Jmho

If Crompton plays we can go ahead and spot the gators at least 21 points off stupid turnovers. I'm not saying Stephens is going to lead us to the promise land but at least he is not going to go into the fetal position after making a bad play.

Yeah... what about that fetal position? It really says a lot about your endurance if you go sit and pout on the bench and avoid your team. C'mon... start Stephens in the swamp and try to tweak the running game.

When is the last time you have seen Tennessee play some trick plays? We really need to bring a mixed bag to the game if we got our starting QB huddled up in the corner wearing Pampers.

Well, I do believe Crompton will start, but, it would be nice is someone could get into practice this week and report back on the goings on to see if there is any increase of NS reps with the 1's.

Crompton starts... if it becomes apparent that there is not going to be a fairytale ending to this, then Stephens will get the nod for Ohio.

Please oh please be realistic about young Tyler Bray. Thank God he decided to play football at Tennessee. The worst thing to do is put the world on his (skinny)shoulders. I have no doubt he will emerge as a highly touted QB, but I don't anticipate it happening next season. If it does, great. Let it happen the way Peyton became legend. I would put the "hope" on Stephens or Laimason for next season and hopefully Bray, unless he is a special case, take over his sophmore or Redshirt yr.

Regardless who starts at QB they're not going to beat Florida. Go ahead and start Crompton cuz Stephens hasn't a played meaningful snap all year and don't just tell him "hey your starting Saturday at Florida". For people who want Stephens, yes I just want a change to like everyone else. Guys he is no better and I don't wanna hear the "well he couldn't do any worse" reason. He is not gonna save this season. He barely beat Northern Illinois and lost to Wyoming. His stats are no different than Crompton's. I do think he throws it harder and has a better deep ball. Face it Tyler Bray should be loving this cuz he can start next year on Day 1. Kiffin has no confidence in Crompton cause he woulda at least thrown a pass in the final drive it's bad that he had to pick the running game to move the ball with the clock ticking. He was being nice by saying some nice soft comments about him in his postgame interview. Lamaison needs to take a stand and at least go to Kiffin, Reaves, and Chaney tell them he wants a chance to show them that he is interested. This week run the Nu-Gun, G-Gun, possibly put in Wildberry or Wildcat just to throw Florida off and run a few reverses cuz we have nothing in the world to lose this game. We are expected as we should to be blown out due to talent level.

Why would you want Nick to start? So he can get his head beat in...U let Cromp play and then after that game u play Nick!

After some reflection on this, I think you are probably right. I was just extremely pissed after the game and hoped to never see Crapton play again. But, it probably doesn't make sense to turn Stephens loose in the Swamp and destroy his confidence. With that said, I'm still really dreading seeing Crapton in the Swamp.
