Predictions: Who does Lane start in the Swamp?

It doesn't matter who starts, we are going to get beat bad. One of two things will happen on offense:

1. We will run the ball 50+ times to keep the score down hopefully and limit Crompton throwing the ball...
2. Or will we let him throw some and after 3-4 more INT's he will be benched and Stephens will be the starter for the Ohio game.

I guess my point is that I just don't see the point in starting Crompton when we know with 100% certainty that he doesn't have a chance in hell of not sucking and destroying us. Just make the change and rally around Stephens.

It is amazing that people do not remember how BAD Stephens is as well... and the South Carolina game where he was literally jumping up and down on the sidelines like a toddler.

Precisely.

Exactly. What would be the point to wait a week. Stephens isn't going to be any worse than Crapton next week.

I agree..we might as well let Stephens go ahead and take over now so he might be more prepared for our SEC games post Ohio... Who do you think will start next year, Bray or Stephens?

If Stephens is serviceable, I think I would let him start next year and let Bray get a year in the weight room and learn the system, so he could come in and be ready to run the entire offense.

Does anybody have a link where stephens is jumping up and down against south carolina? Is this the same game were crompton comes in and fumbles his first play?

Yes, I think that was the same game. The difference between Stephens and Crompton to me is that when Stephens played last year, I didn't worry that every snap was going to be a disastrous turnover.

If that is the case then start Stephens now for game exp. I know he is pretty bad in his own right but I think the team has a "oh no, now we are f****d!" mentality whenever Crompton walks into the huddle.

Exactly. Starting Crapton hurts everyone; the players have no confidence, Lane catches crap from the fans for playcalling even though nothing he does will make any difference with Crapton in the game, and the season will go into the toilet.

Didnt both start 4 games each? Stats were about the same but who had the easier teams. I know there is no such thing as easy teams.

I think the thing that you have to look at is that when Crapton is in there is always going to be some huge negative play for the offense. That happened all last year, and even though it took a one game hiatus, that same karma is back. Stephens isn't going to set any passing records, but if he can manage the game better we can at least compete. Our defense is good enough to win (I'm not referring to UF) if we can just do something on offense.

This whole argument is like asking who you'd rather be married to ... Janet Reno or Hillary Clinton. And you have to pick ... there's a gun up to your head. I think most of us would rather just take the bullet. There are no winners in this situation.

Florida will win wheather its crompton or stephens. Why not start stephens and test his mental toughness?
Nick won't need MENTAL toughness if he gets the start down there. PHYSICAL toughness, yes. Mental? They already know what's going to happen in the swamp

Did "fresh start" mean CLK didn't watch any '08 film? Every snap, it's like a locomotive coming full speed; don't know if he's going to get caught on the tracks or is just too mortified to move... either way, the story ends up the same.
