Based on Fingers excellent breakdowns on spring practice and the summaries I am reading from the Orange/White game (I am still deployed so was not able to go in person) it appears our QB situation is decent. Our talented WRs have butter fingers but hopefully that can improve and our offensive line is a little suspect. I don't think it is a reach to say defense will be improved. It appears they looked very good and very well coached at the Orange/White game. I still want to see how the defense looks in a real game and Tech will definitely test our secondary early. It is also reassuring that our three biggest games, Bama, LSU and Texas, are all at Neyland. My gut says we end 9-3 as I think we will take one of those at Neyland but knowing Tennessee lose some game we are not supposed to like Arkansas or A&M. 9-3 makes us a bubble playoff team. 10-2 I think gets us in.

9-3? Wow. Heupel should get coach of the year. With that schedule, you most assuredly make the playoff. Word out of camp that QBs aren’t processing well in live game situations. Too many holes, and not a proven QB. We didn’t replace Brazzell. We were more active in the portal, but everyone is still asking about DT, LOL. Too much high school talent that isn’t going to contribute right away.

I think 7 wins is about it. The wild card here is defense and the new strength coach. The other is whether Heupel will revert back to 2024 and slow things up and go run heavy. I think we’ll be improved defensively but will regress big time in the passing game. I don’t see enough on the D line to compete against that schedule.

7 wins is the floor, IMO.

A while back I said 7-5 possible 8-4 but since we don't have Joey returning I fell 6-6 is probably more realistic.
Just too many unknowns and other teams have also changed coaches so knows what fire KY may have under a new coach.

I am going to hold to my 8-4 prediction. We have more talent than most of our opponents and I trust the defense this year. Heupel offenses have never put up less than 31 points average per game, if we get that production I think the defense will hold.
Furman - W
G Tech - W
Kennesaw St - W
Texas - L (I just think Arch and TX are too good this year)
Auburn - W
Arkansas - W (this is the game I am not sure about, we have a hard time winning at Arky for some reason)
Bama - L
South Carolina - W
Kentucky - W
aTm - L
LSU - L ( I hate losing to Lane but they spent huge in NIL in the portal and got all the QB's)
Vandy - W

The season really hinges on the Georgia tech game. They should be a solid team, and if we beat them, I think we're set up well. If not, then might be a long season.

Assuming we win, we will be 3-0 heading into Texas. Texas is probably a loss, but is certainly a toss up at best. I think we can beat Auburn at home, and Arkansas on the road. Too much roster turnover for both teams to be competitive in their first years. Neither will be super easy though.

No idea what Bama will be this year. We are riding a 2 game home winning streak against them. Still, toss up at best, leaning towards loss. South Carolina is a lot tougher since Sellers is back. Same deal, toss up, but i think i lean towards us this time. Kentucky sucks.

A&M is very tough, and with Reed back, this is the toughest game all year. LSU is really unknown. They're banking on Leavitt, who wasn't particularly good last year, and has injury concerns. Lane can certainly flip a roster in a short amount of time. Toss up, leaning win currently. Vandy lost so much, and they're not really equipped to replace that. We get payback here.

8-4 feels likely, 7-5 or 9-3 possible. 10-2 unlikely, but possible I guess.

7-5—and that’s if we beat GA Tech on the road.

I know many have LSU circled because of Kiffin, but South Carolina is the game where I want blood in the water.
We better want blood in the water every game. I'll have to stick to my prediction of 8-4. Anything less than that and Heupel's seat will be quite warm in 2027.

Somewhere between 6-6 and 8-4. I'll go with 7-5 with probable losses to Texas, Alabama, A&M and LSU and one loss to a team they shouldn't lose to.
Exactly my thoughts as well.
If we end up at 6-6, Heupel's seat should be very, very warm heading into 27.
7-5 and there will be pressure still.
8-4 and he's safe for a return in 2027, which is not great because it's a sign of apathy that we as fans and the AD is settling for mediocrity.
