Prediction for this season.

Dude, this is a prediction thread, so I'm being realistic. If this was a thread asking what I want to happen, then yeah 15-0 stomping Bama all day. And you don't need to question my fandom fyi I'm a life long fan, born and raised TN, and a graduate from UT.
Dude, that's exactly what I meant. "Life long fan, born and raised TN, and a graduate from UT." And still predicts a loss to the Gumps..........If your being realistic, why predict a loss to the tree-killers in Knoxville? It's not like they're on par to have that great of a team this next season.

Hey, dude, the term "dude" is so '80s.

Well that's the word about Knowles defense. It takes a few years to implement but once it's in place it's a good one.
That's what they said about Dave Clawson's offense and we know how that worked out. Southern football fans are not that patient. The D better be much improved over last season.

I think we have a real shot at being a good team this year. By that I mean being competitive throughout games and winning more than our share of the tough ones. Of course I'm wearing orange shades, but our roster is packed with talent, and our coaching staff looks like men who know their jobs. They should coach the offense to block, the defense to tackle, and skilled players to make plays. Until I see otherwise, those are my expectations.

I think the problem if what they about the Knowles defense taking a few years is true I'm not sure if that is feasible with the way college football is now but I don't think it could be any worse than last season, if it is ohhh boy

Well I hope I'm wrong but here is my logic. We will have a new QB this year and a new defensive scheme. The Bama game will be our 7th straight game of the season without a break, with the last 3 being Texas, Auburn and Arkansas. Bama might not be Saban good but they will be a quality team. I know, there is no room for logic on this board, but couldn't help myself.

Just like the Georgia game was a major letdown and set the tone for the season, the Texas game will be the same way. Imo, that’s a must win game at šŸ” if we win, I could see us 9-3, 10-2. If we lose 😬 8-4, 7-5. I have no idea what to expect from this season. I almost hate to get my hopes up so I don’t get disappointed šŸ˜†

I just want to see us take the right steps this year…tackle better, complimentary šŸˆ, better defense in the Red zone and not as feast or famine offensively. Oh and for our kicker to make a Gw kick if it comes down to the wire

Better to aim low and be pleasantly surprised. 40 years have prepared me for this. šŸ˜‚
That is very fair brother. I set myself up for disappointment every year lol.
You 2 stop having fun and acting like you enjoy this. You go about it differently so start calling each other names and asking which excuse the other is going to come up with while hes working the drive thru window at McDonald's for why we didn't win as many as he predicted.

Lol.

Hook, line, and sinker.
Is that the slang that's acceptable now? Dude, I'm just trying to get it right in this era of correctness.

I was upset in 1970 when dudette never caught on but these days 6'5" 280lbs with a 5 o'clock shadow may prefer ma'am.

I'm glad we have folks like you to tell us dude is not acceptable either anymore.

Yea, I was just pushing it down the isle............
I still use "dude" and "man" regularly in person and on VN. 48yo and proud to be from a generation that didnt have a cellphone in HS. Didn't have internet until HS. We actually went places all the time, and interacted with other people our age. It was great...especially compared to most today who are scared to death to even walk up to a girl and talk to her. I know how lucky I was to be an 80s kid and 90s teenager. We won the Title in 98 when I was 21years old. Its weird when I see people from my generation trying to talk like their kids. Thats weird. Be comfortable in your skin and where and when you came from IMO.

🤣 exactly. If I was a betting man, I would definitely take the over at 6.5wins... we may have something go wrong or a terrible call, or whatever and go 7-5. We ain't going 6-6. I am at 8-4 and may well be at 9-3 by August. Fwiw I have somehow predicted 9-3 for the last 3years in a row 😳 we will have playoff team in 2027 AND 2028 though. We are set up for it with all the very talented youth on this roster IMO.

I was even luckier to be an early 70's kid and a late 70's teenager. Push mowed yards and bailed a bunch of hay. Drank water from a garden hose. There were around 12-13 boys in our small neighborhood all within about 5 years of age. Every one of us had a nickname of some sort. Needless to say, lots of ball was played late into the hot summer nights.
