Pre-Florida week week

I'll wait til he has a full roster of his recruiting classes before I make that judgment

Fair enough.

Wouldn't you agree that this is the most talent we have had in years ( that's legal) and we should win at least one big game?

historically speaking, whoever runs the ball better wins this rivalry game. And this year, I think we have the better shot to do that.

Because you just got stuffed on 3rd and 1. Doesn't mean I agree, but meh.

I don't like kneeling the ball with 40 seconds and two timeouts, but maybe I'm alone.

That little nugget has gotten completely swept under the rug this week as well.

Could have easily taken a couple of shots down the field and if they didn't work out, then take a knee.

I expect UT-FL to be an ugly, low scoring game like it has been in recent years.

With a shaky kicking game on the road after choking at home, it's hard to like the Vols' chances.

Im conflicted. On the one hand, i think it's a defensive gane and Tennessee has the skill guys more likely to make plays with limited opportunities.

On the other hand, Florida put on a steaming turd performance in 2014 and won. I dont think ive ever seen a team that bad, that played that badly, win.

It's hard for me to picture a more competent team losing at home

Tennessee has to prove they can win this game by actually winning it. Until then, I'm figuring it'll be Florida.

Unless he brings in the equivalent of the 2001 Miami Hurricanes roster, this staff will have a hard time overcoming the coaching mismatches they will face against top SEC teams.

More than likely we will, at best, have close to the same talent as the teams at the top of this conference. So, this coaching staff is screwed.

Just stop.

Yes I completely agree. That's my point. And why I remain positive and supoort the team fully. I have no doubts that he will win more than one big game this year.

Because if you were paying attention, you would've noticed that they weren't playing to lose. If so don't you think these highly paid football coaches would've been smart enough to run the play clock down every snap instead of continue to run the hurry up? OU made adjustments on defense and it worked. We had a ton of mistakes as well that hindered the offense 2nd half. But we were definitely playing to win lol. Cmon man

Playing -to win- and playing -not to lose- are not the same thing.

Carolina doesent count it'll have to be Florida, Georgia, or Mizzou

I don't care what's happened in the past. I go into every game with confidence in the team and expecting a win. The least I can do as a fan is give my complete support for the players who busts their tails every week to prepare for the game, then go out and put their body's on the line so us fans sitting on our asses can be entertained.

man you have been disappointed , and depressed a lot the past oh 8-10 years haven't you? I love the vols with all my heart, I hate hate hate it when they lose, but im also a realistic person, not on crack , and don't like to lie to myself or others. that being said I am never down on the kids that play the game, but I do get frustrated at the millionaires roaming the sideline. I hope we beat them by 50, but until butch proves to me he can win big games im not gonna go into a game like this expecting to win. hoping yes expecting no. I mean butch is a great recruiter, but the only thing he has done so far on the field is win the ones he should , lose the ones we were expected to, and when close or up in a big game CHOKE! so he has some work to do!

I don't like it either but I'm sure they were simply avoiding disaster.[/QUOTE

avoiding disaster turned into disaster! that's why everyone is so upset. this staff plays so dang conservative. they get a lead in a big game and sit on it. they coach not to lose! they need to grow a pare of balls over there. butch needs to prove he can win a big game.

Selective memory going on in this thread too.

ok one game in a down sec east. to a team that has a 70 year old coaching it. USC got lucky to win 11 that year. we had to rally to win. butch does fine playing from behind. he doesn't get conservative and scared and sit on a lead when we are behind of course. that's the one game that we weren't projected to win that we did. we were even favorites against UF last year if I remember correctly lol
