That's great, 72! I don't know you or your family, but I'm hooked on this thread and your updates. Incidents like what happened here are far too common. I applaud you for openly sharing and speaking about something so personal in a public forum. I hope it's been good for you. I whole heartedly believe it's good for the masses to gain this exposure. Things like this don't always seem real until they hit close to home. Even though very few on this forum actually know each other, this place is like one big disfunctional family, making this hit close to home for many of us. I have three daughters and this scares the hell out of me. I continue to pray for you and your family. This could happen to any of us. Stay strong, brother and keep the faith.

Really great visit today. She seemed like a completely different child.Family therapy was hard she broke down and we got some things out in the open. If all goes well she may get to come home Fri. Keep those prayers coming and thank you guys so much

Great news! I don't think family therapy ever gets easy. It finally will become more common/routine - not really the words I'm looking for, but it's easier/safer to be open and authentic. When she gets home, don't let the "honeymoon phase" cloud your judgment. Everybody still has to work at it and keep the communication and connection flowing.

Always be honest with each other, and encourage the same from her. Sometimes we try to protect those we love with "little white lies" believing it's less harmful. That's a falsehood in and of itself. The truth will eventually out, and lies only build mistrust and resentment. I'd rather hear the painful truth rather than learn I was lied to later. Honesty carries much importance to at least some of us with depression.

Awesome news.

I don't know how your feeling, but I'd be scared to death.

I wouldn't know how to act. I would try and smother her with affection and make it a weird situation for her.

Hopefully the counselor prepared you guys for this stuff.

So many emotions,scared to death and excited all at the same time. Going to be walking on egg shells for awhile

Stop for a nice dinner on the way home -- is she worried about going back to school ? Did they prepare her for that ?
