Don't be so sure. Look at Florida State recruiting after Bobby Bowden retired, and he's considered just as much of a legendary coach as Pat.
I am not familiar with dementia and other diseases that attack the brain. Is this usually a swift down fall or could it be a few years before symptoms start to show. Or did she go to the mayo clinic because symptoms were already showing.

Dimentia itself is pretty much the symptom, so going to say symptoms were already showing
The rate the alzheimer's progresses at though may depend on how aggressive it is (I was told early onset tends to be more so)

This does belong in this forum along with every forum because of the support she has shown for every sport, and the reputation she has brought this university. She has been diagnosed with dementia, and she hopes to still be able to coach this year.
