Where has this been confirmed by the coaching staff or team medical staff? All I have seen is speculation in here. I get that the consensus is that it's serious, but I've seen no "confirmation he may" or may not play.

Butch said he is out indefinitely

I'm more worried about Coleman Thomas at RT again. I like Jones at guard more than tackle and I like Thomas at Center more than Tackle but the injury bug has hit. Good news is that only one so far is really serious.

Thomas at tackle could end up better than we think, he's really athletic and surely he's improved over last year. Idk I just feel like if we had to play Jones before he was ready the same thing would happen to him this year as Thomas last year. Getting Robertson back will help up develop Jones a little more.

I keep thinking about poor Zach Stewart. I wonder if there's still time for him to enroll and join the team this season. I know Coach Jones is certainly giving him all the time he needs to figure things out, I was just wondering if there's still time for this seaon if that happens. This team could certainly use him.

Zach will not enroll until January, per Coach.

I think people are more so remembering how Striker completely butchered him.

He was an 18 year old kid playing his first real meaningful game early in the season. He was a bit thrown to the wolves. People forget that Ju'Wuan James got beat up pretty bad as a True Freshman RT.

His biggest issues were mentality and communication. If he's more comfortable in the scheme and he's gotten over his confidence issues, I think Thomas can be a great RT. He's got the build for it for sure.

You'd think our line would improve at least some from last year. Either way I think our defense is going to great, and they're going to win some games for us, just like our offense will. Both sides of the ball are loaded with talent.

Did anyone read the Rucker comment about Marcus.
It reads that he will be out eight months.
Is that a misprint that should read eight weeks.??

That last statement makes most of us drink... Heavy

How so?

Alabama had 1 QB hurry and 2 sacks against us on 32 attempts.

South Carolina had 1 QB hurry and 0 sacks against us on 40 attempts.

Kentucky had 0 QB hurries and 1 sack against us on 27 attempts.

Mizzou (elite DL) had 4 QB hurries and 6 sacks against us on 37 attempts.

Vandy had 1 QB hurry and 3 sacks against us on 20 attempts.

Iowa had 0 QB hurries and 1 sack against us on 21 attempts.

Comparing that to the Ole Miss (6/7), Florida (3/6), Oklahoma (8/5) and Georgia (16/3)... our OL improved considerably once Dobbs came in and the guys simply had more time to work in the system and together to suss out communication problems. Arkansas State even had 4/2.

I'd say our OL finshed adequate last year. 2.33sacks/game (destroyed by Ole Miss) was actually where Ole Miss' OL ended up on the year. I expect it'll progress to average this year and give up ~1.5-2 sacks/game over the course of the year. Some it may concede 4, others none.

Justin Workey would disagree

butch with some strong praise for KP, using his clips from practice as teaching moments for effort and hustle

Oh My!!! DB v 2.0?

Watching these lines go against each other a few things caught my eye.

#55 on D! I was like, who is that. The guy has good size and seriously athletic. Quay Picou ... that kid looks like he can help us ... this year. Looks more like 275 than 260.

#9 on D. Look like DB has bulked up 15#s over last year. Look out.

#50 on D. Same story as #9. Should see some improvement from CV.

#50-51 on O. Look the part so far. Good athleticism it appears to my untrained eyes.

#2 on D. Beastly

Reports are that he has actually slimmed down some since last year. Transforming his body.

If you can run the ball it will slow down the DL from rushing, Dobbs was able to bring running that most teams struggle to stop. Hurd was getting everything he could squeeze out with the blocking. Mobile QB was the difference.
