Very glad Shoop is working with the Safeties himself.....

We've had very poor play from that position for years!
The Big Eye don't lie.....obviously Shoop has seen something there that he wants to "coach" himself!

Jack Jones working with the 1st team over Coleman Thomas is really surprising. I don't hate it. But dang. We have great depth there.

Its practice. A player cannot win every single match up regardless how good he is.
Also it would be interesting to have seen what it means when 'haus was said to get the better of KMac. I know Boulware held his own against KMac at least once last year, so it's not unheard of, but was Kmac dominated or pancaked? I did not hear or read that.

Exactly. Who cares what he does in practice? What matters is whats done in games.

Why do people read the practice threads??

They obviously care what happens in practice.

Can't have it both ways.....and anoint a player as amazing based off of what we hear they do in practice.....and say that what a player does in practice doesn't matter.

Crazy to see some of the talent on 2nd team..Kongbo, Kyle Phillips, Justin Martin, Nigel Warrior, Tyler Bryd..not to forget the injured Shy Turtle as well. This team is stacked.

My question is, will Justin Martin start? I didn't watch corner closely, but remember the others looking good in practice and being talked up only to get torched in the season. I really want to see Martin have a significant role.

Notice two separate reporters reported two different starting OLs.

From what I saw today, Niehaus did beat KMac the first time. They redid it and I think KMac won the second time. Niehaus has been a pretty solid player so far. Niehaus had a little head start the first time too so that was probably a good reason why that happened.

Got a few good ones today of Jalen. He's been doing one handed catching drills lately and literally grabbing all of the balls thrown to him.

He has excellent hands as a receiver out of the backfield. Alvin ate into his receiving totals last year but he already has nearly 60 catches in 2 seasons. That'll serve him well when he gets his draft grade after the season.

Today, media got 3 periods, with period 3 (actual rotations; formations/real playing) being no filming or shooting. A few of my observations today:

-In period 3, Kongbo was moving very fast. He absolutely smoked the right guard (can't remember who) and forced a zero play to Dormady. Motor wasn't slowing down at all. Moseley had a nice pick. Guarantano didn't really get to move the ball much but made good decisions and didn't cause a bad play. Had a nice 10 yd ball while being rushed but Perry dropped it. Overall, we seem to have really good talent on both sides of the ball all the way from 1st-3rd team.

-Tyler Byrd continued to impress. He's very quick and made some good grabs. Always knows where to be when the football is in the air. Preston Williams didn't miss a catch on the ball machine, which was throwing them pretty quick.

-Marcus Tatum still needs to be more aggressive but actually slowed Kongbo down once in a one-on-one rushing drill. He's the skinniest offensive lineman I've ever seen. Looks like a stick but he's pretty tall and seems to have a good skill set. Corey Vereen had his way with Richmond in a rep. McKenzie and Boulware had a good rep together, but eventually McKenzie overpowered him.
