The only fault with that reasoning is that the stripe is no longer under the coaches purview. The players decide and the first time Kongbo beasts a fool, the edge of his stripe will start curling. :aggressive:

Yep, I know the players decide. Each newcomer is assigned an older player if memory serves me.

The players are a product of the coach and you can bet the coach speaks to the capt's and older players about certain newcomers and how much they want to push them wether they want them to reach their full potential or even to keep the player from being full of himself in some cases. Either way, it's just my guess.

Kongbo may be the last stripe removed just because he will knock the stripe off of everybody else's helmet the 1st day with full pads on.

Well KMac was trucking the OL in practice last year and his stripe came off after Paul Bain's.

I think his conditioning was apparent during the season. Doubt fellow (in-shape) players wanted to let that slide. Kongbo doesn't look to be struggling in that department.
