Potential coaching staff for Heupel

Chaney as offensive coordinator and Ansley as defensive backs coach to finish out their three year contracts.
Some have stated their contracts are voided if they are given another position. Unless that applies to the HC only. IDK myself. How does that apply to Ainsley?

what is he going to do with Chaney and Steele? Chaney is getting paid a lot of money not to be OC, but I do not see Heupel allowing Chaney to run the offense.

Fire the whole defensive staff. Fire half the offensive staff. would try to keep Chaney if he can do Heupels style of offense, he did put up points when here with Kiffin and Dooley but make him coach QB's too. Keep Graham he is TN blood and can coach rbs. Not sure about Tee though. I haven't been real happy with WR but that all could have been because of Pruitts offense and JG inaccuracy.

Heupel calls his own plays. Chaney does not recruit. Why keep Chaney?
We may need AHC or Co-OC titles to sign up good position coaches, like Heupel's OL coach from UCF.

If Chaney can get on board he is a good coordinator and if Heupel calls his own plays then that gives chaney more time to work with qb's in game and to help Heupel look for tendecies during the game. The only person I would really really try to keep is Graham. Everyone else if they can't get on board with his offense then they need to go.

Ansley is supposed to be a real good defensive backs coach and I think Pruitt over rode some of his play call decisions when Pruitt was head coach.

Yeah, I was talking specifically his contract as DC. How it is affected if he drops to a lesser position?
Can he refuse, get his buyout and go somewhere else or accept and get some additional compensation for his DC contract being reworked?

I don't know about Tee based on (unproven) comments here about his attitude and not getting along with Pruitt. How does he feel about working for Heupel? I know he's a former Vol, doesn't lock him into a job though.

Plenty of rumors that Pruitt didn't get along with a lot of people, and didn't know how to manage assistants and delegate. I wouldn't necessarily fault Tee for problems with Pruitt.

I have no idea how his contract is affected if he drops to a lesser position.

Let's move on from the talk about whether Heupel is or isn't a good hire. We don't know. Time will tell.

Who will his staff be? I assume Steele will be kept on board. Will he now be the DC (remember, he wasn't hired for that role)? I would think, given Steele's ability, reputation, and knowledge of the conference, it would make sense for Heupel to just hand him the reigns on defense and give him autonomy. In fact, I think Heupel would be wise to let Steele also make staff hires for assistants on defense...or at least collaborate on them.

Here's my take:

Head Coach, playcaller, QBs- Josh Heupel
Assist HC/OL- Glen Elarbee
Co-Offensive Cord/Tight Ends- Alex Golesh
Co-Offensive Cord/Wide Receivers - Zach Azzanni or Darrell Wyatt
Running Backs- Monario Hardesty

Co-Def. Cord./LB- Kevin Steele
Co-Def. Cord/Secondary- Ansley
Defensive Line/RC - Rodney Garner
Assist HC/CBs - Travaris Robinson
STC- Nick Toth

Here is where we need new blood...
Everywhere, d sucked, o sucked. Please start over, I thought the RBs did well, need to block better. Keep Graham, get rid of Tee and Chaney. Need a new DC bad.
