Not true, and this statement is currently in the process of being proven completely untrue.

When viable, safe vaccines are ready in a few months, we can refer back and see how wrong your post is.

Your post is completely nonsensical.

No one's lost. You said "it's already starting" because I said we shouldn't rush through clinical trials. If it's a rush job, everyone should call it a rush job, and if it's not one, great, would love to see a vaccine ASAP.

Science is plenty accepting of both abortion and non-binary genders, and male and female aren’t cleanly walled off from each other as you suggest. Neither of those positions is "disfavored" by science and I wish you were smarter than this
If male and female aren’t “walled off” from each other...then why can you only buy clothes in sizes from male and female?

Right, because Joe is clearly corrupt, incompetent, ineffective, and long ago lost his fastball, so we need to see who his VP pick is because there is a great chance that person will be in charge within two years of America electing a man with an obvious cognitive deterioration issue going on.

People aren’t stupid, Trump wins big.
There are plenty of stupid people, don’t underestimate them. Keep in mind this country elected barrack Hussein twice

We have all been played folks. Yes the virus is real, Yes it has over a 99% recovery rate but that never leads the story. We will always have viruses it is just life. Don't be fooled by the political motivations with this one. My son plays D2 football and they canceled its season Friday and said they would wait till spring (horse crap) Those kids have been back at school since July 1st working out and practicing with no issues. I guess the new normal is never again do anything because we might get sick. Flu, H1N1 Sars never shut down and were way worse than Covid. What about the 700,000 people who die from cancer every year should we start banning thing just because politicians tell us it could cause cancer? I use to think we were stronger and smarter in sports that a bunch of sheep but I was wrong. They will come after College Football soon my guess is MLB will be gone withing two weeks. I hope I'm wrong. The fall out is going to be astronomical when you see the law suits about eligibility and the lost revenue will be the death nail for many other college sports that count on the $$$ from football. I hope it was worth it to effect the outcome of an election and if you think this has not been hyped then you are part of the problem. DROP THE MIC!!!!
Do you think Trump believes this was all hyped just to impact the election and will go away in Nov 4?

I am sure the families of the 580k+ dead and 15 million positives outside the USA will be thrilled to learn of this. Brazil just passed 100k deaths. By spring, we may not be leading the world in deaths. Especially since it ends in November and so many people in the nation and this forum think the Earth is only the parts they care about.

Putting a pin in this for future reference.
Great.

If the media is still hyping Coronavirus at the same levels as the past 5 months in November of 2021 then I’ll gladly admit I was wrong.

if they are, and people are still believing it then we’re much worse off as a nation than I thought.

I'm assuming you haven't lost any friends or family to it.

Do you live in a rural area?

No, not rural.

I’ve had 2 family members get it. One (@ 96 in a nursing home) passed away. Other @ 23 recovered.

You think the media hype (fear porn) and the shutdown should be permanent?

Do you think Trump believes it's mostly media hype and not that dangerous?

. The virus will still be here on Nov. 4 2021 lol I’d bet money on it
The virus will be but if Biden does win then instantly the media messaging will change whether he does something different or not. The MSM is CLEARLY biased against Trump and Dems have completely lost their minds because of Trump. Either that or their lunacy has always been there and it’s just now being exposed.

Shooting the messengers will solve all problems. Brilliant. Your point has nothing to do with who said it. Few posters on here don't have orange in their veins. The ironically named covid TRUTHERS frustrate the hell out of me. But I have never once doubted their love of Vols football.

I don't think that staement holds water in the SEC, outside of Mizzou, or Big 12. Probably accurate for most of the B1G Pac 10 outside of AZ and AzSt. Sean Hannity and his opinions are not bound by truth. To insinuate the SEC is led by liberals is laughable.

I am going to presume you haven't spent enough time on VolNation to know the Covid-19 virus is actually less of a threat than the flu and children and Republicans are immune to it. You'll see it magically disappears in November after the election.
Yeah, I don’t think your statement on SEC schools is accurate. I don’t care enough to go look up the political affiliations of each university’s leadership but I bet you’d find a lot more liberal leadership than you think. Just because a state is red doesn’t mean that the universities follow suit.

I've lost 2 family members (one at 93 and one in her 50's) and 3 former colleagues to it, but I knew this wasn't overhyped prior to those deaths.

I don't think the shutdown should be in its current form. I think a more surgical approach is needed. For example, Knoxville didn't need to shut down when Nashville did. I feel like we burned ours too early because you cannot sustain businesses with multiple elongated shutdowns. The blanket method was terrible. It's cost billions of dollars in private sector revenue with nothing to show for it.

Media always engages in fear porn because ratings are important. They are private entities so I'm not going to say what they should or should not report. If you blame them for the fear, then that's just silly. Blame the stupidity of the general public for buying into it.

However, this is real. It's getting worse, and the only thing more foolish than a blanketed shutdown would be this gung-ho approach to open everything up. My sister is a teacher and got covid in her first week being back because her county is run by people who think this is a hoax. We're currently seeing if she improves, but she might need hospitalization. She is 32 and my polar opposite, as in she is the picture of good health.

I think Trump believes the virus is real and is dangerous to at risk groups.

I think Trump also believes the media hype was overblown used for political reasons in an election year.

Look at the percentage of COVID deaths of people that lived in nursing homes (1.5 million people) versus the rest of the US population (328.5 million people).

Should we shutdown permanently? Just give up? This “new normal” isn’t sustainable and we need Covid treatments developed and made available to eliminate the fear factor.

See link for 2019 nursing home stats.

Sorry for your loss. Hope your sister recovers quickly and completely.
