Postgame Press Confrence

I spent the whole video looking for these comments and could not find them but I think they are very telling:

@wesrucker Dooley: "Ya know, y'all complained about the offense last year." Reporter: "It's all about us, Derek." Dooley: "Yep ...I need to go to bed."

yeah.. that must have been off the record either before or afterwards because it wasn't on the video.

What do you guys expect? It's coach talk...

lol @ People who try to read in to post game press conferences like they mean anything.

lol @ people that think Dooley can do any better than what we've already seen the past 3 years.

It is sickening and pathetic - there is no improvement this year.

We've gone downhill since NC State game.

He basically says "I liked what I saw today. Gave up some big plays, but our defense got better in the 4th quarter and I'm infinitely proud of those guys. We're gonna watch film and work like heck this week. We've got a really tough Missouri team coming in next week. Hope we can pull that one out, because those guys are good."

Seriously Dools?

What do you want him to say? "we suck" "I suck" "we cant win"? Anybody who has ever been a coach or even a leader/boss in the workplace knows that's not the kind of attitude you can have. What would you say? Please, If you know the answers, go apply for the job.

Well that was odd cause he looked and sounded like he was upset or felt bad but when asked about that he said he didn't and actually was pleased and kind laughed but then went right back to looking dazed. He did it throughout the end of the interview, he would look dazed and upset but then get asked something, laugh and then realize he was laughing and smiling and stop and immediately go back to the hum-drum dazed looked.

I know I shouldn;t try to read into anything, but it seemed like he was trying to look and act like he thought the fans would want him to look and act after that game but would slip up every now and then and show how happy and giddy he really was about winning.

Well silver lining. Im watching the Mich. St. Nebraska game and on ESPN crawler so far we had the #1 & #4 receivers in country today in Patterson & Hunter.

If I didn't know the outcome of the game I would've thought we lost by watching that presser.

One thing that stood out to me was when he was asked about Bray's record setting day. He didn't give Bray very much praise at all. Instead of maybe saying what a great accomplishment it was for Bray to set a record held by Peyton Manning he points out how TB was over throwing wr's early.

Really Dooley? Give the kid some props. He gets called out & then has back to back really good games. I guess Dooley only knows how to talk about how bad players play instead of recognizing a great performance by a guy that's taken a lot of criticism. JMO

Well, I do agree with Coach Dooley that the alternative (losing to Troy) is worse than squeaking out a win. However, unless there is a big change on the defensive side of the ball, we ain't winning another game this season. Hate to say it, but UK could start a 2 yr winning streak against us if we don't figure something out.

Happy that we won, but this is the worst I've felt after a win. Go Vols!

Did Dooley really quote Fulmer by saying "work like heck" during the press conference?

get real man. you must have watched a different press conference than I did. Im ready for this mess to be over too, but dont go around making crap up. He was about as disgusted as we are but glad we won. Thats basically what he said.

Other than saying we managed to find a to win, everything else is the same. How does that saying go... keep doing the same thing and expecting different results.

he's very somber.. very low spoken..

starts right out of the gate with this:
'every football traditionalist is rolling over in his grave right now"
'not much to say other than we found a way to win..
"really bad on defense"

great job finding a way to win and we survived..

Q- on total yrds allowed?
A- it's a bad...it's a bad... it's a bad defense, man...

.Good recap.. Hate him or not.. IMO if you watched this you saw a guy who wants to win and was very frustrated with the D play. There may be good reasons to dislike his coaching results but not for wont of effort or desire to win. he called it straight and did not sugar coat it.. defense is playing bad...same thing VN is saying but he gets killed for it. I applaud being real.

I disagree, he outlined multiple changes in D personnel and schemes and then said 'none worked'. Kindly said the D guys are 'struggling'.

Your right. I guess I have not seen a 1 linebacker (non zone), so to let a 30 yrd draw on 3rd and 15 lol.:loco::crazy:
