Postgame Press Confrence

He basically says "I liked what I saw today. Gave up some big plays, but our defense got better in the 4th quarter and I'm infinitely proud of those guys. We're gonna watch film and work like heck this week. We've got a really tough Missouri team coming in next week. Hope we can pull that one out, because those guys are good."

Seriously Dools?

he's very somber.. very low spoken..

starts right out of the gate with this:
'every football traditionalist is rolling over in his grave right now"
'not much to say other than we found a way to win..
"really bad on defense"

great job finding a way to win and we survived..

Q- on total yrds allowed?
A- it's a bad...it's a bad... it's a bad defense, man...

.."everything went bad in the 2nd and 3rd.."

"we couldn't slow em down"

"we really didn't have an answer for anything."

"nothing's going very well on defense. It always starts with coaching."

We called Timeouts so game management was much improved. The D "played like heck".. We are still on track for a GREAT season (7 wins)!!

Pretty sure that's not even close to what was said. It was somber to say the least.

"We're gonna work like heck this week"

Same old stuff in every press conference. Sick and tired of it.

I watched the press conference twice and I can't find his "i need to go to bed" comment anywhere. Did I just miss it or was it edited out of the video?

Summarizing:
- Defense was bad... (no ****)
- DBs can't tackle... (no ****)
- Offense played too well and did not slow the game enough to help Defense.
- No one can tackle the draw.
- Found a way to win.
- 1-0 this week.
- Hoping to be 1-0 next week.
- Team's spirit was broke. Struggled to get them back at halftime.
- 3rd and long, can't tackle. DL and LBs do not get off blocks. Safeties don't see it. On passes, let them throw over the top every time.
- Defense not struggling against scout team during practice week. (really?)
- Dooley struggling to rewind memory because there were "800 plays".
- Dooley says he has never been in a game like this when looking at 1400+ yards of total offense. Quote, "Holy Jesus".
- Dools felt that special teams did great in fielding all of the balls. (Solid point since there were so many damned kick offs to return).

...stop listening.

on calling the timeout when troy was down at the goal line setting for FG..

-- wrong personnel, bad substitution.. gave them an opportunity to rethink it and threw a slant route on our corner ... "and so that was bad."

May I please reply: "OUCH!!!"

Not only bad coaching, but terrible post-gamer, to boot!

the old 1-0 chestnut lol. Asked if the worst he has ever felt after a win. He ddodged the question and said no I always just think of the alternative when we win.

Seems like we've heard all this before... week-after-week-after week... I believe most fans, though we love the Vols, are sick-and-tired of the same old lame excuses and post-game rhetoric..

He sounds like he really don't care anymore like it doesn't matter what he says. I'm guessing he was told he's gone. But i'm only 6 min into it so.........

said devrin young did not play due to a concussion he received in practice this past tuesday.

(dunno if that'd already been announced elsewhere.. first i'd heard of it)..

the rest of the interview is just regular ol' stuff..

IMO, he seemed totally at a loss for answers to anything.. (actually confirmed that specifically at one point in the presser)..

said "we don't have to play great defense to win. [...pause...] we do have to play better defense, though.."

At no point did he get happy happy joy joy about anything.. but he did mention lot of guys getting a lot of touches.. I can't remember his saying anything specific about Bray's record stats..

that's it..
