Possible win loss for vols

I like Bryant a lot. I simply don't think he becomes Drew Lock in one off-season. I would also rate Lock at the Lawrence level (without the supporting cast)... Bryant isn't. Lock IMO carried Mizzou last year and made plays most QB's can't make.
agree, just saying it's an unknown. bryant is pretty good....lol.

Regarding UGA’s d-line, when you absorb all the info floating around out there, from podcasts, to magazines, to online articles, tv shows, etc, most indicate that while UGA has recruited extremely well, the one area where they have been somewhat average is the D-Line. There are recent articles on Dawgnation about this and some have Kirby himself quoted as saying he needs more out of the D-Line for Georgia to be complete. Who is the Jabari Zuniga type pass rusher opposing teams should fear from Georgia?

Regarding Franks, you’re simply not being honest with yourself if you didn’t see the noticeable improvement from 2017 to 2018, and the improvement from early 2018 to the end of 2018. Listen, REGARDLESS of the competition, Franks lacked confidence and was poorly coached in 2017. It didn’t matter who Florida played. By year’s end in 2018, Franks was the reason UF was exploding on offense, not just some dude out there trying not to screw up. The talent is there, and when you understand what QB’s have historically done under Mullen in year two, you have to see the reason for Florida fan optimism.
And when you see what defenses have done under Grantham in year two and three, you will understand why he has been called "third and Grantham" and why guys tend to run on the field late and not know where they are supposed to be and why UGA fans were ready to help him pack for Louisville in 2013 and why Louisville fans were ready to help pack to go ANYWHERE in 2016. And yes, Kirby wants more out of the D-Line .. WHO DOESN'T?!?! But there is exceptional talent there, a wealth of experience, speed and versatility. It's not an issue. They base their opinions off the lack of sacks last year with Walker being the one real go getter in that area. But the DL gave up 200+ less rushing yards than UF did and even I would say that was a strength of the Gator D last year. And to be honest, I still think the Gator DL is lacking as much experience as the Dawgs WRs are but Zuniga is a stud so there's that.

As far as Franks goes, you can keep him .. the quality of the competition matters regardless of whether you think it does or not. He had a crappy games against Mizzou and USCe in the last five games of the year. Yes, he got better from year 1 to year 2 but holy crap, I would hope so considering how horrendous year 1 was. But I guess you want us to be impressed with a quarter of his TDs coming against FSU and Idaho. Geez.

Now you’re cherrypicking stats. You don’t mention Franks’ 12 TD’s versus Georgia/Michigan/SC/Tennessee and you’re also cool with HALF of Fromm’s TD’s coming against Austin Peay, MiddleTennessee, Vandy, Georgia Tech and Mizzou??

You keep yours, we’ll keep ours and let’s get this season started.

We had heard from a really close source that it was as mutual a decision as it could get for UGA with the HC and OC. Both felt they could just line up and shove it down Bama's throat and it didn't work.
I can see a few different ways that wouldn't reflect to well on Smart.

Damn! Ummm ... ok .. I just think Florida is probably the most overhyped team I have seen in recent memory. They beat a bad Idaho team, a bad FSU team and a Mich team missing a lot of players and acted like it. All this after getting SMOKED by Mizzou. Franks is at best a serviceable QB, Grantham is awful, and they lost a ton in the LOSs.

Mizzou was better than most believed.

Possibly. But odd stuff happens every year. Last year, good enough to win at Auburn and pound a pretty good Kentucky, but lose to Vandy and a mediocre South Carolina.

I like UT over Georgia because it’s still fairly early in the year (5th game), UT is coming off a bye week, Georgia is overrated, it’s the first big SEC home game in Knoxville and the crowd will be insane. I got UT.

Remember we got both AU and UK at opportune times. That played a larger role than most understand.

Dude...the transitive property only works in closed, binary environments. We beat AU and lost to VU. Wake up.

It’s been stated over and over what did or didn’t happen last season. We curb stomp the best Kentucky team in many many years. They’ve lost a lot of good talent and S.C. has the better talent especially QB. Losing to Kentucky would be a throat punch and train wreck if we beat SC. AU was severely overrated last season and have been many times under Gus.

A lot of words to say nothing. 1 vs 1 matchups are unique. The transitive property is nonsense in sports.

The fact is we've beaten a handful of ranked teams the past 3 years and VU has whipped us 3 straight times. Sports are probabilistic and dependent on recent events, including the moods of 18-22 YOs, etc. It often doesn't make sense, so trying to make absolute statements is pointless. The real world doesn't work that way. It is probabilistic, not binary.

And because the perception is that Georgia is good, it’s impossible that Florida may be good too. Apparently, there’s some sort of rule against Florida and Georgia both being really good at the same time.
Georgia used to always think they were great but then both UT and Florida would whip their azz and bring them back down to earth. I do think UGA is more talented than UF but i think UF has the coaching advantage. Smart is good but I’m not sure he is better than Richt. After 3 years the record says Richt is slightly better.
