Possible starting lineup against UT-Martin

I like, but I think Bray will start. And not seeing the Sullins on the O Line gave me a half nub

I like it all except: Bray for Simms and I'd like to see Raines over Evans. Also I think Greg King will be a star if he stays healthy.

I don't think there's any chance Reviez starts this year.

We have so many superior athletes at LB. I still don't know why everyone is in love with this guy. Yeah, he works hard - but he's slow, short, and not very good.

Ill take the experience over anything else.

Absolutely have to start him, no question about it.

If the season started today, I believe this would be the starters. Of course, things are going to change.

QB- Bray/Simms/Nance
RB- Poole/Oku
FB- Cooper
WR- Moore/Da Freak
Wr- Jones/Milton
TE- Stocker
LT- Juwaun James
LG- Jarrod Shaw
C- Victor Thomas/Cody Pope
RG- JerQuari Schofield
RT- Dallas Thomas

DE- Ben Martin/Gerald Williams
DT- Montori Hughes
DT- Marlon Walls
DE- Chris Walker
WLB- Greg King
MLB- Nick Reveiz/Austin Johnson
SLB- LaMarcus Thompson
CB- Art Evans
CB- Eric Gordon
FS- Janzen Jackson
SS- Darren Myles/Prentiss Wagner

Maybe something like that?

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but what's going on with jerod askew? I thought he was suppose to be a stud linebacker coming outta high school!

He's only a redshirt freshman. And he looked decent in the O&W game. But we have a lot of depth at that spot.

Maybe not the answer you were looking for, so if someone can be more specific, go for it.

He's struggling a little bit with the system I think. Physically, he's more than ready. Hopefully he'll get it together by Fall so we can see him rotate

True, I saw a little of him in the o and w game. But, that was via internet so it was bad quality and skipping a lot.

I doubt even poor quality could keep you from seeing the hit he put on someone in the second half. Does anyone remember who that was?

The defense was not as good after Reviez got hurt!

When people start to figure out that the elite wrestlers are pretty damn good football players as well, they will understand 40 times arent everything. For those of you who dont know, Reveiz was a state wrestling champion. You cant do that if you arent an ELITE athlete (physically and mentally)

The defense wasn't really any worse. The defense really took a tumble late in the year because of injuries en masse.

If Reveiz starts, it is really a strong knock against the athletes we have at LB. He may be 'smart', but he's slow, and freakin' tiny.

Love the kid to pieces and hope he destroys people on special teams, but I don't like him in the MLB spot against Bama's OL, UF's TE/Slot WR, or LSU's RBs.

The kid can play. He was on pace for 87 tackles before he got injured last year, which would have put him tied with Berry for 2nd in tackles. Our defense did pretty well against UF with Reveiz manning the middle.

Agreed, Reveiz can be solid at LB but nothing spectacular which is ok. Fortunately/Unfortunately we seem to be in the same boat with 3 or 4 more of our LB's who are solid but are not playmakers.

Since Simms has outplayed Bray in all scrimages . LOL, i have to go with Simms also. His dad (Phil Simms) seems to have some pull around there. Otherewise Bray would be the starter.

I thought Juwaun James had been playing at right tackle and Dallas Thomas at left tackle.

And I'm sure you're a bastion of football intellect.

The MLB being the QB of the D as some would say does not need to be a freakish athlete it needs to be someone who has been there before and knows what to do when things get nuts on the field. Thats why Reviez (sp?) starts IMO.
