It was an opportunistic defense just not a great statistical one. The offense unexpectedly shined with Aguilar at QB. There, that’s two positive things. I do wish the season had gone better though. We were right there with GA and should have won. Shoulda won the OK game going away.I think everyone should come on this thread and say one positive thing about this season or anything positive about coaches and players.
I’ll go first . I believe Josh Heupel is the right coach for the Volunteers and I’m thankful he came . Y’all’s turn.
We would have played the run better if our DC would have figured out it’s not against the rules for the QB to actually run the ball across the line of scrimmageI just saw on YouTube that Tennessee’s DTs were the lowest rated DT group in the SEC on performance. DEs were slightly better but did lead the league on sacks. The problem was stopping the run. About all the defense was good at were sacks.
That HAS to change. I like sacks. They can end the drives but that can’t be the only thing you do. Over have no chance if DL plays the run this poor.
