I already commented on this.
Help me out here, I'm slow.
Edit: I found it. It was just such a reach I didn't realize that was your sole argument. As to your point about Christians, if a Muslim stabbed a couple of Christians while yelling Allahu akbar, yes I would consider that terrorism given the current state of world affairs.
Well the victims weren't Muslims.
Good reason to leave crazy alone. Most likely the guy wouldn't have done anything if they hadn't made it physical. Weirdos like this are itching to try out whatever tactics they've learned if provoked.
Good God....
First of all you have no damn clue if he would have done anything or not so your conjecture is bogus. You weren't there, you don't know how he was acting towards them, so to assume he "wouldn't have done anything" is silly.
Secondly, if no one had defended the two women and something did happen, people would be pissing and moaning about how today's man is so limp wristed that not one stood up to defend them.
Smfh....
At this point I've seen nothing to indicate he was physically threatening the women. He was certainly being an ******* but that's not a reason to get physical. I think it's telling he was harassing women, he most likely wanted a target he thought wouldn't try to kick his ass and he could berate with impunity. Even after he stabbed those men he did not attack the women, he ran away. So I fail to see how this is an act of terror or a hate crime, which is apparently being investigated. If this is a hate crime or terrorism , then the black guy who shot the white cop simply for being in the wrong place is the same thing.

What if he didn't say allahu akbar? I'm sure you would be saying it's a "reach" to label it terrorism.
Given the circumstances with what's going on with the radical side of Islam, yes I would lean towards it being terrorism. Since Christians going off killing in the name if Jesus Christ is such a rarity I lean towards this being one crazy dude hating on some people for no good reason.

Why on earth are you talking about Jesus Christ? Why aren't you judging the (hypothetical) incident on its own merit?
Because the greatest form of terrorism today is religiously motivated?
Also, given the fact that the two victims that were the focus of this nutjob were muslim, I find it hard to separate that from equation.
Well, there it is...you are willing to prematurely jump to a conclusion based on your perception of the world. You are willing to call my suspicion that this incident is terrorism a "reach" not because it's actually a reach but because you see non-Muslim terrorism as an unlikely event. That's exactly my point. You have to judge the case on its own merit. He called Timothy McVeigh a true American patriot, for ****'s sake. How am I reaching?
Lol. I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt. If we're going to make a determination that this was home grown terrorism don't you think we examine the motive? Since the definition of terrorism includes some sort of political component shouldn't we try and determine what political gain he was trying to obtain? Or should we just go ahead and slap the terrorism label on it regardless of whether it fits the definition?
