I believe they are done. Newman is going to sign, Chapman will be back, and don’t believe Bargo will.

They will have to prune a little bit from there. Think they would love to have Purcell a lot but at this point it’d cost them someone they really like. We will see, maybe they will decide to go that route

Honestly, given a choice between Chapman and Bargo, I’ll take Chapman. They had similar hitting numbers last year. But Chapman has a higher ceiling and is a much much better outfielder. Bargo was an adventure in left field. Chapman, on the other hand is a good fielder with a cannon for an arm.

I do believe that was a factor. Chapman is an elite outfield defender and they just lost an OF in Newman. Bargo probably the better hitter but they feel Chapman has more untapped upside as he hasn’t played as much as Bargo. At worse, Chapman will be a good defensive sub in the outfield and at best he’s your starting RF. Gabe them options. Bargo was kind of a jack of all trades on a roster that is super full with intriguing options at every position

I just assumed he was drafted.
Did not realize until I saw the list.
Even with a great Sr. season, the kid has no leverage in draft in 2026. he would almost be better playing Independent Leagues and picking his spot.

If he decides to transfer, I'll be stunned if it's not an SEC or ACC school

I just read that Cooper Torres may actually be out of Div 1 eligibility.

So he would have to move down a division to be eligible. (UTampa on the phone)
I still think Independent League would give him more options. But what do I know?

Fwiw, just about everyone drafted in the top #10 rounds will sign. Teams lose their pool money if they don't sign those rounds, so most have handshake deals beforehand.
