I believe they are done. Newman is going to sign, Chapman will be back, and don’t believe Bargo will.

They will have to prune a little bit from there. Think they would love to have Purcell a lot but at this point it’d cost them someone they really like. We will see, maybe they will decide to go that route
Honestly, given a choice between Chapman and Bargo, I’ll take Chapman. They had similar hitting numbers last year. But Chapman has a higher ceiling and is a much much better outfielder. Bargo was an adventure in left field. Chapman, on the other hand is a good fielder with a cannon for an arm.

I do believe that was a factor. Chapman is an elite outfield defender and they just lost an OF in Newman. Bargo probably the better hitter but they feel Chapman has more untapped upside as he hasn’t played as much as Bargo. At worse, Chapman will be a good defensive sub in the outfield and at best he’s your starting RF. Gabe them options. Bargo was kind of a jack of all trades on a roster that is super full with intriguing options at every position
