Good to hear. Agreed on Clark and Lawless being in lineup next season. He has been tearing it up in the cape as well. Both he and Clark’s bats need to be in the lineup next year in some combo.
USC’s Brodie Purcell Soph RHP visited Rocky Top.What’s the new 247 article about ? What other pitcher visited ? Any idea of who else they are looking at?
Think Ford is more of a corner OF/IF. Don't think he has the speed to play center. If we're done in middle infield and Blanco commits, this is my guess unless we pull off a stunner with Schoolcraft or Appenzeller.

Disclaimer: I know nothing
Yea I had Ford pegged for corner as well but someone said he’s been playing center at the capeThink Ford is more of a corner OF/IF. Don't think he has the speed to play center.
I think Levi (if Ford doesn't make it to campus) will get the first crack at 1B.
Per the norm with CTV, there will be a guy we don't see contributing that comes out of nowhere and surprises us all
Exactly. No one expected Marcus Phillips to be our Saturday starter and sure as heck no one expected him to be a top 3 round pick in the draft. Things will figure themselves out. One thing is for certain. We’ve got a lot of talent. No idea who will play or where they'll play or how they'll be used. My only assumption is everyone has to earn what they get. Tony stacks talent and lets the cream rise to the top. I just look forward to next baseball season and hope we see the return of the Tennessee swagger.

Details?
Come on down young man."It was awesome man!" Purcell told GoVols247 after his trip to see Tony Vitello's Vols. "Had a great time with the coaches. Beautiful campus and facilities"
Also said he was taking a few more visits but it will be hard to top UT. Would be a huge bullpen addition. He went 3-2 with an ERA of 2.11 and was All-Big Ten Second Team honors. Struck out 51 hitters and allowed just 19 walks in 42.2 innings, while holding opponents to a .177 batting average. He had 20 appearances where he did not allow an earned run and only one outing where he gave up more than one earned run.
“Allowed just 19 walks in 42.2 innings” equates to around 4 walks/9 innings pitched. He will need to get that number down, but love the other numbers."It was awesome man!" Yes, Ford has been playing center field and hitting leadoff for Chatham. Has a lot more speed than what you would typically think with someone who plays 1B. My comp would be Jace Laviolette as far as size, speed, and range. Staff could decide to play Abernathy/Brown in center, but Ford has shown this summer he can definitely play there if needed.Lots of positional experimentation in that league. It’s good for the players and good for college coaches to evaluate.
That’s good to hear. Laviolette is a pretty good comp, I would say. On that same idea, I kept up with the Vols in the CCL last year. If memory serves me correctly, I think Antiqua played 5 different positions.Yes, Ford has been playing center field and hitting leadoff for Chatham. Just depends. Garrett Wright has shuffled around a lot - C/OF/3rd. Marin has played 2nd/SS/3rd. Newstrom has played IF & OF. Ford has been in center from the jump. Sometimes it depends on the team’s needs. Sometimes a college coach will make suggestions on where to play a guy in order to develop. I remember a few summers back, Erik Bakich (Clemson HC) sent Billy Amick to a certain team in the cape and told them “make him a better 3rd baseman”That’s good to hear.
