All it takes is a basic level of film study to see what Joey does to make me excited

If you would like to make a friendly wager on who starts, I would be more than willing
Yeah me too!

Our offense isn't that difficult to learn and some of the concepts Joey ran at App St are similar. He even ran some pistol there, which we heard was a new formation we worked on in the spring.

Some people believe the gap between excelling at App St, compared to UT is bigger than it actually is.

Jake has zerrooo experience. Joey has started for four years including the spring at UCLA. Really hard for a redshirt freshman to overcome that, unless Jake ends up being incredible and....don't think we have seen enough of him to think that.

And this will most likely be a portion of his downfall....

That and either not pushing boosters/NIL enough to replace the talent we lost, or he keeps thinking he can do more with less and just keep his inexperienced roster and expect them to compete with other SEC teams that spent the money to reload... This fall is going to be very telling.. He's had the chance to upgrade, make changes, adjust, but he's chosen not to either because he wasn't given enough money, or he's been too stubborn/naive to think this type of mindset will work in the SEC now with NIL... Guess we'll see in about 4 months...
Or we will be a really good football team again while you bitch and moan per the usual.

Could there be a third option that CJH likes his younger talent on the roster to replace the departures more than rolling the dice on portal guys?

“Play the young guys!!”

“Wait not like that”

Here’s what I don’t get about you and the others going on about CJH’s approach and psychological profile when you’ve never met him and actually have no clue.

Dude was always overlooked and underrated as a player. Forced his way into a starting spot at Oklahoma against massive odds when it would have been much easier to quit or take an easier path. Won a championship, was a Heisman runner up and won tons of other awards. He’s been massively successful as offensive coach for 15 years. He has three times as many wins as losses as a head coach. He has led UT to its most successful 3 year stretch in 25 years while dealing with a roster in transition and NCAA sanctions.

What about this background says naive or too relaxed or too loyal or whatever other garbage you’re always spewing? I look at this and see a guy who would have to be hyper competitive. Nothing about what he’s done suggests that winning is not his sole focus.

You just don’t like the way he goes about it so you make up nonsense that has no basis in reality or fact.

It’s been his MO for a while now, so I quit responding to him.

I met Heupel for the second time last night. We are truly lucky to have all the coaches that we have. Better enjoy while we have them.

People like to act like this is CFB25 and we can just buy/get whoever in the transfer portal with an unlimited amount of $$$

Nico actually bailed too much. Sometimes with a good pocket. And when he did he rarely looked to throw still
Nico definitely pulled it too much and then held on to the ball too long. At times last year I thought he was always trying to make the wow throw instead of hitting the check down . The best drive of the season was the first drive at UGA where we were methodical and he was making good mid level throws. Other times he seemed very uncomfortable or uncertain making quick decisions .

And they all should be thankful for DW. He doesn’t get enough credit on here. He is a winner and a top notch AD. He gives these coaches everything needed to be successful. I think a big part of Heupels success is DW and that isn’t discussed enough. They are hell bent on getting Barnes a final four or more before he hangs it up. We are in a great spot as a program right now.
