Marion is more than likely starting at Miami and Hurry at Louisville with all the turnover at both schools in their WR rooms. We also had turnover but we do like our top 3 WRs. I think that is playing a role.This a lame excuse. You think all these transfers going to other schools are getting guaranteed starting jobs? Please.? Something is not adding up here. Can’t even get a receiver to visit.

I mean, Aguilar isn't unknown. I think you can sell him. He had 6,700 yards in two seasons.This staffs biggest failure was not getting a WR in the December portal. No one wants to come here to catch passes from 3 unknown QB’s
Yep, we are selling a damaged...or at best, an unknown product to these kids. That's being used against us heavily, I'd imagine. It isn't an attractive position to try and and peddle to kids. It was a much more attractive picture 5 months ago to try and lure someone. We just failed to capitalize. Now the narrative being peddled, right or wrong, is that Nico bailed because we didn't get him playmaker. Now the starting QB is gone and playmakers don't want to come to an unknown situation.This staffs biggest failure was not getting a WR in the December portal. That's not what these kids are being told by other schools though. They're being told that Aguilar has never done it at the high-major level, let alone the SEC level l, and with your one shot, are you going to go into battle with an unproven weapon at QB when we've got you X at QB who has done it. 6700 yds at App St isn't really proof that he can cut it in the SEC, so I understand their hesitation if they have other options.I mean, Aguilar isn't unknown. Regardless, they really like Matthews, Staley and Brazzell as starters.
Brazzell can be all SEC
We saw 5 star flashes from MM
Staley, according to some is that dude.
I think that's whats important to remember. The guy from McNeese St has had more experience but I don't think there's anything that made him look like a lock for a starter. The BYU guy would have been a returner but I'm hoping Staley and Matthew's would have better receiving stats than what he had at BYU.I guess the challenge is finding someone willing to EARN their playing time.
@LWSVOL
Are you still keeping track of the roster numbers somewhere? The old thread seems to have disappeared.
I think they like McMurray, who everyone forgets exists, to start in place or McCoy, it's just after him and Gibson there is absolutely nothing.Being honest, I'm more concerned with defense than I am offense. The offense is going to be what it's going to be. So many questions on that side of the ball, I'm not sure a WR transfer will move the needle that much. But defense is more established. Key players there could really make a difference. DT for the rotation. Maybe 2. A CB to cover for McCoy's injury. A safety, because I really think we need a solid safety. Maybe even a LB that can actually cover. We struggled with that last year. I'm pretty sure the defense could be really solid, especially with a couple of pickups. But we're breaking in new almost everywhere on offense. New QB. New RB. New WRs. New OL. It's going to be what it's going to be.
If I counted correctly, we've met our scholarship reduction numbers, with the exception that the punishment says we must operate with at least a two-scholarship reduction every year of our probation. So I think we can do 83. Probation goes through 2028, I believe.Or 5 and 4 if we go with 82 this year. Hadn’t seen anything saying it’ll be def be 83 but I remember reading it could be 82 or 83.
