Listening to AP the past couple weeks, it seems like the staff really likes Matthews, Brazzell, & Staley as our starting WR group. Guess its hard to convince someone to come be a rotational piece.Man these last few months in football recruiting / the portal have been full of absolute nut shots. Seems like no WR wants to come here.
AP has also equivocated saying 'they have to do something at WR.'Listening to AP the past couple weeks, it seems like the staff really likes Matthews, Brazzell, & Staley as our starting WR group. Guess its hard to convince someone to come be a rotational piece.
Most won’t like it (I wish they’d get another guy) but they seem confident in what we have
Supposedly OU is rolling out the red carpet for him. Wouldn't count on him making it in either at this rate.Gotta hope the Mcneese WR makes it in this weekend. He’s only going to be a sophomore this year, and he had nearly 600 yds last year and 3tds as a freshman. He’s quick and he’s 6’4” so he’s a solid prospect. If he makes it here after the Oklahoma visit we will have a good chance IMO.
No I agree with you, but since Josh Heupel has been here we’ve pretty consistently had one wide receiver been banged up all year. We are 1 injury away at WR (and safety) from being pretty screwed. Throw in inexperienced QB play with that and it may be a long year. I hope I’m wrong.Listening to AP the past couple weeks, it seems like the staff really likes Matthews, Brazzell, & Staley as our starting WR group. I think the only one they were shocked that left was Squirrel. I think they were fine with losing the othersNo I agree with you, but since Josh Heupel has been here we’ve pretty consistently had one wide receiver been banged up all year. The biggest failure here is not anticipating more WR leaving in December and aggressively going after someone then.
OU had one of the worst offenses you will ever see and in a few months they are going to lap us offensively. All bc they actually understand how to use the portal and have a desire to get better. Jim Nagy was an incredible hire as GM there. They are actually doing it not just talking about it.Supposedly OU is rolling out the red carpet for him. Agreed! Landing Matteer and his OC is a huge upgrade for them, Heupel is everything going to have to let go of some control and hire a GM.OU had one of the worst offenses you will ever see and in a few months they are going to lap us offensively. Our staff has no issue being razor thin everywhere.
I'm a bit over it with this offensive staffs perceived lackadaisical attitude toward recruiting. What else can I do? Nothing.I guess Smith and Jackson are going to have to grow up fast.
It really feels like they’re just letting the program wither on the vine. It’s maddening.I'm a bit over it with this offensive staffs perceived lackadaisical attitude toward recruiting. What else can I do? Nothing.
We have a real opportunity to take next step.
I know this opinion will be unpopular, and Im aware of its hot takedness. But is what it is. Looking around the room, there is zero reason we cant go get a difference maker at WR.
Ill give it to DC and those guys. They modified their approach, and it worked.
