True, I’m highlighting the fact that small was a workhorse his sophomore year and was forced into a starting role (and stayed healthy). Bishop was only “better” based on his .4 more ypc. With more carries that stat gets smaller.
With more carries, the yards per carry get smaller? 🤔

I don't think there's any reason to assume we'll take a step back. Schedule is favorable again next year. QB a year older. We'll probably be pretty good again.

Although I do agree we need more impactful playmakers on the roster. But the offseason is long. More names will emerge and we will get some of those.

I would love some new hires on the offensive staff. But if Heupel wants to keep rolling with his guys he's earned that right imo. Grass isnt always greener. Hazle is young and will keep getting better. Heupel obviously trusts him and he's helped bring in and coach some high level QBs.

I feel like we could upgrade our OL coach for sure. But Elarbee has been with Heupel forever so i don't know if we should hold our breath here. We've also been one of the best running teams in the conference. So maybe we gotta take the good with the bad here. Sanders is coming to help at least.
Bama and Florida are both road games next year. Those are usually losses. The Georgia game anywhere is usually a loss. We usually have one totally unexplainable loss to a clearly inferior team. Next year's schedule will be tougher than this year's schedule.

This team will take a step back next year. The question is if Heupel sets them up for a great 2026 or continues towards mediocrity. He did a great job taking a dumpster fire to the plateau. Climbing the mountain is a different situation. I see signs of stubbornness though.
Yep. I can see 5 losses next season. 7-5 is my pick for '25.

Perry no big loss if he enters the portal. Get to see Spillman and Burns along with the freshmen. Alot of talent, no experience. Just need to coach em up.

If Syracuse's QB is granted a 5th year, that won't be an easy game.

Scheme wise it aint happening regardless. Middle of the field doesnt get used in this offense.
This was my comment from earlier this week.

It seems to me that when we're playing lesser teams, we can pretty much get away with running whatever offensive plays we want. However, when we're playing elite teams, the fact that we generally ignore the middle 40% of the field in the passing game comes back to bite us in the ass with a wound the size of Jaws' attack victims.

we have signed #1 and #2 hs classes
Thanks for the well known information. That doesn’t erase my point to your point that basketball and baseball are superior to football when folks are discussing the deterioration in interest due to transfers. I’ll be in LNS cheering for Doyle and Fischer the same way I will homegrown Ensley but it doesn’t mean I enjoy seeing guys for 1 year and then they’re gone to MLB or one of our own recruits bailing for greener pastures.

We have to improve the roster and coaches or we are backsliding, no question, next season
