Can't disagree with the article except one thing: To say there isn't anything much behind JG isn't a fact. They haven't played in anything of substance to base that on. The same was said of Josh Dobbs when he was on the bench. Funny how he worked out to help pad Butch Jones wins for a few seasons. We won't know what we have until we try them. UTC is the perfect game to do this.

I'm with you....lets roll

I feel sorry for Juan Jennings -- the most passionate Vol of this decade, and he's going to go out on a losing team.

I just hope he can keep getting redzone targets. Would love to see him break the season record for TD’s

Believe me, I completely understand being frustrated but there’s absolutely no excuse for calling JG a moron. That’s too far man. He’s a kid and a kid that’s out there getting drilled time and time again for your entertainment. Maybe you should go try it and see how easy it is to play QB.
You watched a different game than I did cause I didn't see him getting hit time & time again Sat. He is flat out terrible

I voted no for one reason only. He's in a new offense and looks like he's regressed. Give him one more chance against a very inferior opponent, and if the light bulb doesn't come on, I think you have to move on.

Being in a new offense doesn't make you overthrow wide open receivers. Being in a new offense doesn't cause you to lock in on one side of the field and never look at the other side of the field. I like the guy and I get it, but being in a new offense and looking like the same old QB doesn't give me a lot of hope that we would see any change.

If we do what you suggest, then moving on would mean starting someone new against FL, and that's probably not our best option. I say start someone else against UTC and see how they do.

Tom Brady could start next week, hit his first 30 passes.....and there would be the same dumbasses on here calling for him to be benched when he didn’t complete pass #31. Just the way it is.

Or when the defense gives up 50 points.

Somehow, that's always the QB's fault, too, here at VN.

Well, I don't think he looks like the same ol quarterback. I think he's regressed. And a new offense can make him think too much, which would lead to staring down receivers and being late on throws.

I dont think pro football focus would have named him national offensive player of the week if he sucked. He's struggling bad this year though. The game is not slowing down for him, and he's pretty much out of time to get it working this season, IMO.

I think he looks like the same old QB. You might be right and he may have regressed, but staring down receivers, being late on throws and holding the ball too long isn't new behavior, its the same old same old. Please don't misunderstand me - I don't think he sucks. I just think if there was ever a time that making a change makes sense, this is the one.

Reactions: tbh and AM64
I urge any one of you saying that he should not be benched next weekend to go and watch just about any other team that plays this Saturday. I'm not saying go be a fan of another team, I'm saying go see what real QB play looks like. JG might succeed at a G5 or FCS level school, but he simply lacks the mental awareness and the ability to think fast enough on the field. Seriously, it sickens me to see low level schools that aren't loaded with highly recruited players field some 2 or 3 star QB who looks better than JG consistently, especially with the weapons he has at his disposal. Even to see a QB lead his receivers or look in sync with them just makes me sad because it's how our offense should look.

The logic of pruitt will be to put in a freshman Qb against Florida to spare jg the beatdown.

And try and convince fans that jg is the best choice. Doesn't matter if it is against fla. defense, however Maurer could surprise him, lol. And yes JG would be beat down, against all of sec, he very slow

Imagine that. What if that’s when Maurer gets his shot? Against his own hometown rival. Our nemesis. And he pulls out a victory. 🤔

Chaney is his 4th OC. Three things are currently happening. He's either,

1. Needing the light switch to come on with this new OC and offense.
2. He's not seeing the field like he should be in this new offense.
3 He's regressed.

Personally I think it's #1.

I'd give JG the 1st quarter to make the right reads and get the ball there and if he fails then next man up.

What difference does it make? He wasn't able to do it against two of the easier teams on our schedule. Just because he looks slightly improved against an FCS team doesn't mean he will be able to maintain that level of play against an SEC defense. It's going to be painful.
