Then we've neither lost or gained anything but making a switch at least says to the fans that I know things aren't working and willing to make changes to try and fix the problemI do. It’s time to move on. No doubt. But what I’m asking is if (hypothetically) he puts Maurer in and he makes a few bad decisions. Or looks a lot like JG in ways. Do we come unglued on him just the same or do we see the potential and roll with it long enough for him to get settled in?
There’s not a doubt in my mind he’ll kill UTC off the bench.
Maybe one more reason to keep him riding pine until he’s got a signature from HB?He's going to play next week.
If he starts he's going to throw for 400 yards and 6 TDs. People really still don't understand how much JG has been holding back this team....even after 2 losses to vastly inferior teams.
Either way, every one is going to be pissed at Pruitt after Maurer shines...
Agreed said in the main game thread. Let's see what Chaney does with the other QB's before calling for his head.Let me say this as well. This wasn’t on Pruitt or Chaney either. I know we’re pissed and it’s Pruitts team but they played inspired football tonight. Chaney seems to be coaching around the qb and that can’t be done any more than when he said he can’t coach around a bad o line.
That's kinda not fair to Bailey though because you know he's looking to be a day1 or 2nd season starterMaybe one more reason to keep him riding pine until he’s got a signature from HB?![]()

Gave you a like because I really feel bad for any kid that tries as hard as he does. I wanted him to succeed but I think he’s inside his own head. Then again he got one thing due to his talent that none of us did. A world class education.I feel so badly for Jarrett cause I think he really tries his best and wants to win. But his decision-making is just too slow. How many times did the commentators say that he’s holding on to the ball for too long? He went to every camp there was and worked all summer and he’s doing the same thing he did last year when the offensive line got all the blame. The season isn’t a wash. We have the SEC games in front of us. If we could win a couple of those with a new qb, hope would be renewed. I’m also questioning Pruitt’s ability as a head coach. I’m from the south and I talk country but I do use proper grammar. If I hear him say “I seen” one more time, I’m gonna scream! Lol Ofcourse if he were 2-0 right now, it wouldn’t bother me nearly as much.
TD at beginning was a off target deflection that fell into Jennings hands,Guys...
He averaged 10 yards a completion.
He had a TD at the beginning of the game
Had a TD at the end of the game.
Volnation, that's called having a complete game!
Lets PACK Neyland Stadium and watch our Vols as Jarrett Gaurantano makes his 3rd start of the season to take on the Mocs.!
Agreed...time to give him some time on the field so he can have some game time against FLNo... Pruitt is just really green. He comes from the mold of conservative football and in his mind his JR QB gives him the most confidence.
But Jarrett has really tied his hands with ****** play. He has to let Maurer see snaps next week. Before the end of the 4th game (rs). And 4th game is Florida.
So he has to see him on the field next week.
Thats the point. He knows BMs potential and if he puts him out there there’s a STRONG possibility he runs away with the job. That's kinda not fair to Bailey though because you know he's looking to be a day1 or 2nd season starter
but it sure does seem like Pruitt is playing JG to get Bailey...
Not sure if I was Bailey I wouldn't look at my other options before signing here
I really think JG want's to win and play well but I also don't think he's humble enough to think he's not playing wellI feel so badly for Jarrett cause I think he really tries his best and wants to win. Well it’s on Pruit somewhat.Let me say this as well. This wasn’t on Pruitt or Chaney either. I know we’re pissed and it’s Pruitts team but they played inspired football tonight.
