Kara Lawson please rerurn home. Candace, Meek, Catchinga, Bridgette, Nicki, Nickiy, Michelle, Glory, Ashley..aye speak up... make Kara return home. lol LV4L

Alex Fuller, a former lady vol for sure, should be on the staff too, someone who understands the brand connect it to current players.

Kara, she is the onky one. There is nobody elae. Kara aucess, formula s Lady Vols baskertball. Kara Kara Kara.
It’s funny because there were Duke fans (and others) putting her on the hot seat in years 2-4 (10th and 7th in the ACC). It shows how fickle fans are to want their coach gone as they’re building. Kara survived and Kellie (4th in the SEC) got sacrificed by DW. How quickly things turn.

As cynical as that may appear, i think it’s totally accurate. That tune may change as the numbers for the LV season tickets sales roll in…
I'm sure I am cynical about it. Doug Dickey soured my views on ADs. Of course, the AD was split then, so he didn't run women's sports, Joan did. But Dickey made it quite clear that football was the only sport that mattered. As long as the football team was having success, no one else mattered. Now, don't get me wrong, I love my Vol football. And a healthy football program DOES drive the ship for everybody. But other sports deserve attention, too. I truly want to be an "everything" school.

Kara > Season 5 = ACC Tournament Champion, NCAA Elite 8,
Kellie > Season 5 = SEC Tournament Tied 3rd, NCAA 2nd Round

Since fox sports radio wants to use the results from my poll from a month ago as justification that the majority of fans want to see Kim retained, let's take an updated look at where the fanbase now stands. Should Kim Caldwell be fired or retained for another year.
Admittedly, it was a miserable season. I don't believe we should start a coaching carousel. Coaches go to LSU or A&M just to get the buy-out cash. I am in favor of giving her one more year.

Danny doesn't have anyone lined up. I'm not convinced he actually cares about any sports other than football and men's basketball.
He majorly cares about LVs basketball, just not for the reasons we do. He thought his left field hire was going to revolutionize the game. He said as much. His commitment to the bit will take him down as well.

Nope I’m all vol, when the assistant coach was undermining her and had players doing the opposite of what she wanted them to do. What she supposed to do mid season fire them and bench the whole team. I’m going to say if she gets the player that will run her system, we will see a difference. Then everyone that’s wanting her gone now will have a lot of crow to eat. Hell any coach should have more than 2 years. No she will not win a championship next year but I bet she don’t miss the ncaa tournament. She has already won more ranked teams than Kellie did while she was here.
Think about what you just said. If she had someone undermining her? I have seen so many post this. Where is the proof of this? I have yet to see anyone post that. If im the boss even at Swampy's Blind Eyed Shrimp Shop. And i have an assistant undermining me and everything i am doing. Im pulling a Miss Mona and telling this person im open minded tell me whats on your mind then go and pack the door is that a way. Im not letting this go on knowing its a problem.

Interesting point around his "revolutionize the game" approach. I could totally see this as a motivation for him now that I think about his hiring patterns. There's a through-line - though I may be off of course.

When you look at hires like Josh Heupel and Kim Caldwell, it doesn’t feel like he’s just hiring coaches. He's hiring systems.

Both came in with very defined and distinct identities built around pace, pressure, and creating stress on the opponent. Not traditional “blue blood resume” hires, but coaches whose styles were clear, "explosive", and, in theory, scalable. Neither was an obvious top of market name, so the bet is on identity vs pedigree.

It also feels like there’s a willingness to get in early before a coach becomes the obvious, expensive choice and bet on that system translating at a higher level. If it works, you get upside, identity, and long-term stability.

There’s also a fan element to it. Both styles are fast, aggressive, and engaging, which matters more than ever in today’s environment when programs care about entertainment + brand + engagement vs just wins.

So maybe the philosophy isn’t just “hire the best name available” but: find a distinct system, believe in it, and bet on it early.

The question is whether that approach consistently translates at this level. And you know, if this is your approach, you accept that there's an inherent risk to sometimes missing as spectacularly as the times you hit.

No way she gets fired at this point. I just want Civil and Minus to make their portal announcements and then CKC can get on with the rebuild. I imagine she hires her hubby as an assistant and then brings in the “right players” for her system—- a mix of JUCOs, D2s and some super hard working walk ons. Next season will be like none other in LV history!
Honestly it is clear that she is a system coach. So to maximize the system, you probably should bring in system players and ignore the 'star' ratings.

Not saying what maximizing the system actually accomplishes. But I do think that will be the only way to get the most out of the system, whatever that is.

I literally hate this (because my vice is that I can sometimes get distracted by the individual stars) but it's absolutely true. And honestly if we can win by doing it, let's freaking go.

There is a high likelihood the system will never produce a D1 championship. And given the makeup of the SEC an SEC championship is also unlikely. Can it produce wins? Yes, with the right kind of schedule there will be wins over the lessor opponents - opponents that a team full of "star rating" players with a traditional approach would win as well.

That is the compromise folks who still want CKC here need to recognize. The ceiling is not an SEC or NCAA championship. It is just beat the teams you should and maybe win a few that you shouldn't by a game where some things go your way.

Heupel is adjusting as needed. Heupel is still getting great talent and making adjustments based on that talent. Said differently, he is learning and adjusting. His system was also just one side of the equation, offense. A strong defense can bail out an offense that is struggling but it can't if they are on the field for 80% of the game. While I would agree he has a system - he has NOT forced fit the system to the players but has shown he is willing to adjust based on the skill set of the players. That is what a coach should do.

Caldwell doesn't seem to want to change and because the system is both offense and defense, one can't bail her out.

And honestly CKC based on what she said right before and after the NCAA lost, apparently believes the losses down the stretch were because "the system" was NOT ran or executed as it should be.

It is going to take a season where that is ALL she runs with PLAYERS she hand-picked for her to realize that "the system" has limitations in terms of being able to consistently beat the top opponents at the D1 level. Until she personally sees that, she'll win games just not championships at the D1 level.

Work smarter beats work harder the majority of the time.

Any Coach that loses their entire team & staff needs to go.
I thought we should give her a year, after the exodus she needs to go.
Downhill Slope if she stays.
This is not progressive when this happens, it is a total setback.
Lingering death to the program which may not be recoverable for 2 years or beyond if she stays.
How is the recruiting going to go out the portal or HS recruiting? Not Well< I assume.
Who wants to play for a short leash coach with only 1 portal move. (see below).
Trump's signed document will also prevent some from coming here for the experiment.
She was evidently not doing anything to improve the players she had.
How many players are left, how many coaches, and what got the LVs to this point.
Why would we expect/should expect a turnaround in a year.
Needs = a new staff and players.
Lingering death.
