ASU, a sunbelt team, rushed for 184 yards averaging 4.3 YPC, UT had 6 TFLs, and 1 QB hurry and 0 sacks.
Ohio, a MAC team, was held to 88 yards of rushing, but still managed 2.9 YPC, UT had 4 TFL, 2 QB hurries, and 0 sacks
VT, 186 yards rushing, 4.1 YPC, UT had 3 sacks 8 tackles for loss, 2 qb hurries, not too bad against decent competition, and probably the 2nd best defensive performance of the year.
FL, 106 yards rushing, 3.1 YPC, UT had 2 sacks 7 TFL, and 3 Qb hurries.
GA 181 yards rushing, 3.9 YPC, UT had 3 sacks 8 TFL, and 1 TD. Probably the best overall defensive performance even though they were able to run all over us.
TA&M 353 yards rushing 7.1 ypc, UT had 1 sack, 5 TFL, and 3 hurries. Statistically one of the worst performances by the defense with the 7.1 YPC
Those aren't good numbers, even in our better performances, we still struggled to pressure the QB, and even bad teams were able to run on us effectively. If we ever have real aspirations of making it to the SECCG and/or being competitive, those numbers are not going to cut it.
