Mr. Barnes - The last fired coach brought in from Texas has been a great hire. Bring on Sumlin.

I would support but he's not likely to find success here. We've seen what he is and that's a coach that has monumental collapses that take his team out of contention year after year when he doesn't have a record setting QB. Sound familiar?

He didn't get fired at A&M for doing a good job. Just don't give him a stupid buyout and plan on being back here in 4-5 years. But that's pretty much the standard for any hire we are going to pursue at this point.

I'd still take Chad Morris over anyone we're swimming around with right now, just on his upside and recruiting ties plus his price.

A former coach may be our best bet. Sumlin, Strong, or even Sarkasian?

He'll keep us competitive, and that's all we should be asking for now after this crapfest. We'll probably still lose to a couple of teams we shouldn't every year, but I think the system works and he will get us quality guys in here.

I voted no because I feel strongly that Tee needs to be offered first (I can't believe I actually agree with Spurrier about this). However if Tee says no then go ahead with Sumlin.

Good Choice. Chavis as DC makes it a GREAT choice. As good as Kiffin without the baggage. As good as Miles because of the age difference. As good as Martin because of experience.

Who is the last guy who was fired from a power five conference job and then won a championship at another power five job? Can't think of one.

It's hard to know about his recruiting ability. Texas has a much bigger talent pool and he had the advantage of having the only SEC school in Texas.

Tennessee has to recruit heavily from surrounding states and nationally, being able to say you are an SEC school is not much of an advantage against the teams we are competing against for recruits.

The guy has serious issues with the bottle and it cost him his job at A&M. I think the guy is a good coach, a helluva better choice than Doereen, but not as good as Kiffin.
