Thoughts?

If you vote "No", please state who you feel was worse.

I don't have info on all ut QBs to make a decision, but crompton has to be in the bottom 5. He's terrible!

I'm only 27, so obviously I can't say for sure, but I think he is. I just can't see how anyone could be worse. Because let's face it, the ONLY reason he's playing is because we really don't have a QB.

Get a grip.

It was his 2nd game in a new system. They guy hasnt had any stability as far as coaching staff, schemes, and or game plans throughout his entire career. Crompton may not play to some of yall's standards, but Im willing to bet he sucks far less than some of you experts.

Let's take a poll to see it this is the worst post ever.

The pen is more unfair than the sword! One game! Every things broken! Players can't play! Kiffin can't coach! Press is King..Truth or not!

I date back to Mallon Faircloth in the old single wing. I have never seen a QB so over-rated. This is a re-building year. We should be getting experience to the players of the future. Stephens?? He'll be a backup behind Bray next year. LaMason?? Maybe? We need to worry about the next game, not next months game. Crompton is not a QB for the future. Put him on the scout squad.

AJ Suggs might have been worse. That kid Leak might have been worse as well.

Crompton could still bounce back and have a great year. Really, one of the only interesting things about this season is going to be watching how Kiffin manages this situation.

Obviously, I want JC to succeed.

if you cant hit a wide open reciever, then it doesnt matter how long you have been in said system.

You are obviously not UT's #1 fan. You, like so many others on here, are merely fair weathered fans who can't wait to blast a 21 year old kid. Get a grip. A true fan supports the Vols even in (actually, especially during) the tough times.

Any half wit can sit behind an anonymous name and take petty little potshots. Is Crompton struggling--sure. Is he the greatest we've ever had--absolutely not. But number one fans don't treat players like this.

"One game!" ?

You must not have seen him play last year....

I had to go with maybe because I dont know what UT's QB's were like before Heath Shuler. But he certainly has been the worst one since then. Does Rick Clausen have eligibility left?

The eyes don't lie. Is your brother less of a moron just cause he is your brother? QB position is pressure, and Cromp folds under pressure---that's why he looks so good in practice.

I have only really been paying attention to UT football since the Andy Kelly days... There have been worse QB's on the roster since then but Crompton is easily the worst in the past 20 years that as continued to get a starting nod.

An argument could be made for James Banks, CJ Leak or Brent Schaeffer being worse, but they were quickly replaced. Rick Clausen often looked as ugly as Crompton but gave us a better chance to win in big games. AJ Suggs is probably about the same quality QB as Crompton but he had a much better WR squad around him.

We have typically had backup quarterbacks that were better than Crompton.

Do you not agree that there is a #1 QB in UT's history???? If you do, then by default there HAS to be a "worst" QB in UT's history. I'm just asking that question..... Not everyone wears those orange tinted glasses and drinks that orange flavored kool-aid you and your Cromptonites drink.

And it now goes further than him just making "mistakes." I believe he PURPOSELY gave little to no effort to make a 1st down in one particular play last sat….

If you'll remember, it was like 3rd and 12 or something, and he rolled out to his right and pressure was coming BUT he just threw the ball at the feet of a player. He could have ran another 15 feet parallel to the LOS looking for a WR to get open, but what does he do, he sheepishly grounds the ball on a big third down when we're down 9 points late in the 3rd.

Now I’m not saying make a bad throw, but he could have easily kept rolling out looking for a WR and if nothing developed, throw the ball into the stands. I believe he did that with the mindset of, "Ok, you don't want me to force it, I’ll just ground the ball and see how you like that....." Real mature....

I'm not the only one that recognized this play, afterwards there was a hail of boo birds from the stands.

pretty sure I know the play you're describing and it was a screen that got blown up. Probably not going to be a whole lot of WR open downfield since they should be blocking. He did the right thing there
