For all of you Negas and Anti-Butch nay sayers who are constantly thinking and saying he can't get it done, here is your chance to see if you are in the majority.

For all of you Pumpers and Butch is the greatest claiming the Negas represent a minority when it comes to saying Butch can't get it done, here is your chance to see if you are in the majority.

For everyone and everyone else, as far as I can tell, we don't have an official poll related to the opinion of this message board regarding the thoughts pertaining to Butch's ability to get it done. Maybe, just maybe for a change we can begin to have threads that don't have "fahr Butch" or "Butch can't get it done" or anything else related to those two opinions!

The truth has never been determined by polls or consensus.

I will say this much for Butch; he is not afraid to get rid of coaches that have been with him for what is considered to be an upgrade. This why I feel he will be successful at TN. This is exactly what I feel cost Phil Fulmer his job; he would not fire coaches that were under performing.

I do not think Butch is as good a game day coach as many other coaches but he is learning and I feel that he has finally changed his ways this offseason. He has kept his mouth shut, we have not had any of the "Brick by Brick" stuff and the coaches seem to be doing their job. Right now the 2018 class looks damn promising. I just hope they can keep all of them and maybe add another 5* at position of need.

I love this,45.71% thinks butch will get it done. I bet these are the same people that thought Dooley would get it done here too.. Not being a negavol, and I hope he gets it done, but I'm not so sure he does.

I was completely out as the clock ran down in 4th QTR with Mizzou on dools.

Been here long enough to already know it's true but it still amazes me.

15% (may change slightly) is responsible for 40 to 70% of posts on a given day.
I know the crying child gets the attention but dang guys.

Right now 2018 looks good but it doesn't look good enough to serve as sole justification for keeping Jones another season should he flounder this Fall. With one 5* and a roughly 50/50 split between 3* and 4*, we will probably finish on the edge of, or just outside, the top 10 on signing day. We're trending to look about like A&M did on 2017 signing day. It's an improvement over the past two signing days if it holds but it won't turn us into Bama beaters next year.

Well said. There is a point at which it comes down to him. UGA took a long time figuring that out with Richt. But he should get MAJOR credit for being more loyal to the program and the players than coaches... even when they're friends. They deserve the same from us when it comes to him.

I do not think Butch is as good a game day coach as many other coaches but he is learning
You do OJT at a mid-major or at a lower level program. The SEC and particularly a program like UT... should demand a coach who knows how to get it done on gameday.

and I feel that he has finally changed his ways this offseason.
Agree. But why did it take him 4 years of watching his WR's and DB's NOT perform to the level of schools that do 7 on 7 all summer... before he changed? He gets credit for doing it... but blame for ever not doing it.

He has kept his mouth shut, we have not had any of the "Brick by Brick" stuff and the coaches seem to be doing their job.
Other than inviting ridicule that could hurt his credibility with recruits... I honestly don't care what he says. In fact, if he is being himself saying corny stuff then he should go right on. EVERYONE will forgive him if he starts truly competing for championships.

Right now the 2018 class looks damn promising. I just hope they can keep all of them and maybe add another 5* at position of need.
Not that recruiting class rankings changes the quality of the players you get "at the margins of the individual rankings".... but UT has work to do to stay in 247's top 5. If their average score on 247 and their average "stars" on Rivals doesn't go up... the Vols will finish somewhere between 10-15.

More than likely, six of the last 8 commits needs to be 4* or better for the Vols to stay around the top 5.

If he's given time...

Yes.

Patience is a virtue.

How much time?

Imagine you take your car to a mechanic and he fixes a problem for you... but the problem isn't completely fixed and starts to get worse again after a few days. So you take it back and the same thing happens. Again you take it back... same thing.

How long do you keep doing the same thing expecting a different result?

Can he? Yes.

He had all the tools to do it last year, and UT stumbled hard. It's hard for me to believe 2017 should be better. But I see a ton of young talent with some great leaders on both sides. To beat a dead horse, replacing Dobbs will make or break UT imo. Unless the defense surprises me, I think UT will need a lot of points to win games. Can a new QB and new playmakers step up? Can the special teams continue to be among the best in the nation? Not sure.

Should be a fun ride, and I hope Butch can finally shed some of the haters with a solid year.

Witch Doctor say like posting negative stuff hoping? Try clicking your heels together and spinning around 3 times squealing. " I wanna new coach because I dont know and understand sports, I wanna new coach...."
