For all of you Negas and Anti-Butch nay sayers who are constantly thinking and saying he can't get it done, here is your chance to see if you are in the majority.
For all of you Pumpers and Butch is the greatest claiming the Negas represent a minority when it comes to saying Butch can't get it done, here is your chance to see if you are in the majority.
For everyone and everyone else, as far as I can tell, we don't have an official poll related to the opinion of this message board regarding the thoughts pertaining to Butch's ability to get it done. Maybe, just maybe for a change we can begin to have threads that don't have "fahr Butch" or "Butch can't get it done" or anything else related to those two opinions!
Right now 2018 looks good but it doesn't look good enough to serve as sole justification for keeping Jones another season should he flounder this Fall. With one 5* and a roughly 50/50 split between 3* and 4*, we will probably finish on the edge of, or just outside, the top 10 on signing day. We're trending to look about like A&M did on 2017 signing day. It's an improvement over the past two signing days if it holds but it won't turn us into Bama beaters next year.I will say this much for Butch; he is not afraid to get rid of coaches that have been with him for what is considered to be an upgrade. This why I feel he will be successful at TN. This is exactly what I feel cost Phil Fulmer his job; he would not fire coaches that were under performing.
I do not think Butch is as good a game day coach as many other coaches but he is learning and I feel that he has finally changed his ways this offseason. He has kept his mouth shut, we have not had any of the "Brick by Brick" stuff and the coaches seem to be doing their job. Right now the 2018 class looks damn promising. I just hope they can keep all of them and maybe add another 5* at position of need.
i thought you were in the Manning for head coach camp. i think butch is getting it done it just takes time. it is a fair question,i ask it last week. ever one has that question in the back of there mind. you are seeing trolls every where. :hi:
Well said. There is a point at which it comes down to him. UGA took a long time figuring that out with Richt. But he should get MAJOR credit for being more loyal to the program and the players than coaches... even when they're friends. They deserve the same from us when it comes to him.I will say this much for Butch; he is not afraid to get rid of coaches that have been with him for what is considered to be an upgrade. You do OJT at a mid-major or at a lower level program. The SEC and particularly a program like UT... should demand a coach who knows how to get it done on gameday.I do not think Butch is as good a game day coach as many other coaches but he is learning
Agree. But why did it take him 4 years of watching his WR's and DB's NOT perform to the level of schools that do 7 on 7 all summer... before he changed? He gets credit for doing it... but blame for ever not doing it.and I feel that he has finally changed his ways this offseason.
Other than inviting ridicule that could hurt his credibility with recruits... I honestly don't care what he says. In fact, if he is being himself saying corny stuff then he should go right on. EVERYONE will forgive him if he starts truly competing for championships. He has kept his mouth shut, we have not had any of the "Brick by Brick" stuff and the coaches seem to be doing their job.
Not that recruiting class rankings changes the quality of the players you get "at the margins of the individual rankings".... but UT has work to do to stay in 247's top 5. If their average score on 247 and their average "stars" on Rivals doesn't go up... the Vols will finish somewhere between 10-15.Right now the 2018 class looks damn promising. I just hope they can keep all of them and maybe add another 5* at position of need.
If he's given time...
Yes.
Patience is a virtue.
How much time?
Imagine you take your car to a mechanic and he fixes a problem for you... but the problem isn't completely fixed and starts to get worse again after a few days. So you take it back and the same thing happens. Again you take it back... same thing.
How long do you keep doing the same thing expecting a different result?
