I didn't peg you for being this dense. Please keep in mind that "systemic racism" i.e. how our legal/education/housing system operates is the result of racist white people. White people have white privilege. White people have unconscious racism. So when someone says people of color are oppressed, they are saying white people are oppressing them. It's really quite simple. No one hears Kap speak and believes for one second that he means people of color are oppressing other people of color.
When I say people of color are oppressed, I mean that they are oppressed by the people that make up the criminal justice system, from lawmakers to judges to prosecuting attorneys to law enforcement officers. Yes, most of them are white people. Yes, people of color are oppressed. No, I'm not saying white people are oppressors.
There are more than 2 possible positions on this issue, FFS

No
Do you care about absolute wealth or relative wealth? Do you care about absolute oppression or relative oppression?
Again you are being naive. What is the SJW narrative? White men founded this country, enacted her laws, established the pecking order, societal norms, etc. All of it was done to oppress minorities. The entire system is rigged against minorities because white people are racists. So when someone says "the system oppresses people of color" they are saying "the racist white system oppresses people of color". It is well understood who founded the systems and why.
I don't care about anyone who thinks they are "being oppressed" in the USA in 2016. If that's what they think they they are morons who has ZERO idea what real oppression is and probably should stfu. Go spend some time in any turd world country, plenty close by, and realize how petty Kaepernicks claims actually are.
Oh yeah, relative wealth. Happiness doesn't have a set price tag.
So how does it get fixed? Who has to change their principles in this instance? Are white people wrong? Are black people wrong? Or are they both kinda wrong? Or are they both kinda right? I know you want the world to be about blacks vs whites, wrong vs right, good vs evil, but the real world has gradients. Being white and in the majority opinion on this Kaepernick business doesn't make you a racist. It doesn't necessarily make you wrong wrong either. Same with being black and agreeing with him.
Solid as usual. To me it's pretty simple - it just looks self serving for someone who has more privilege than almost anyone in the country to say I can't support a country that is oppressing people that look like me.
It's not that oppression doesn't exist or that you have to stand or you have "love it or leave it". It just looks like crocodile tears. It gets compounded when said person who simply cannot respect this country starts sporting a Fidel Castro T-shirt and wears cops as pigs socks.
It isn't black vs white. It isn't patriotism. It looks like he's biting the hand that feeds (whether he intends that or not).
Good to see Brandon Marshall of the Broncos taking a knee during the anthem.
The movement continues.
