Please stop blaming that loss on the kicker. Everyone knows we lost that game when coaches tried to run out the clock after we recovered the fumble. Coaches played not to lose instead of going for the win. Your whole premise is that any kicker we get MUST never miss especially when a lead/game is on the line. Teams all over the the country have guys who can drill 50 yarders and he sucks outside of 40. And he’s the opposite of clutch.

All of his makes that puff his stats were 30 yarders last year when we stalled out in the red zone over and over again. He doesn’t mentally have it.

The whole most accurate kicker thing was extremely misleading as well. He’s had a lot more kicks and a lower yards per kick on his attempts.

That being said, the UGA loss wasn’t on him as much as it was on Banks/Heupel.

this!!! It is easy to blame Max for the loss but there were multiple reason we lost that game with the final reason being the missed FG.

I would argue the biggest play that derailed our playoff hopes was the Sanders missed block and Joey’s fumble. I believe if we had went up 14-0 on Oklahoma we blow them out but no one is screaming to kick either Sanders or Joey off the team as they shouldn’t.
