This has to stop. Currie had to have been brought in to keep the self indulgent boosters pacified. Pacifying that bunch is destroying UT. It's why it has gotten to this pathetic point. It's been repeated time and again that this was too important of a hire to miss the mark again and the program was at a critical stage.

What on earth have they been doing or thinking while other coaches were being interviewed? This school president, this worthless Board of Trustees with their self appointed booster bucks, this relatively new AD, what have they been doing?

If Currie couldn't land Gruden, he should have had the sense to put an end to the rumors when he was asked about it instead of smiling coyly. He should have said that he talked to Jon and that he had no real interest in coaching at the college level.

This is an epic fail.

Couldn't agree more. What was it that happened when Chancellor Davenport came on board just before it appeared David Blackburn was about to sign? It seemed at the time that she would OK the hire since the work had already been done on this selection. Then, all of a sudden that stopped and a new search firm was employed. And here we are.

COME ON ADMIN (and boosters). It is so hard to get to the top levels, but the rewards are big there. Why let this excellence wither away?
