Nioh 2 is a great game. If you're a fan of Ninja Gaiden you will love this game.
Days Gone at 19.99 is a steal. The game is very underrated!
If you have PSVR, Astro Bot Rescue mission should be an absolute no brainer at 9.99.

Anyone have ps now? Thinking about picking it up for 30% off. By my calculations that’s $42 for the year.

I have it. Completely worth it. Plenty of value. Tons of fun games to stream and even download.

Yes its a very underrated game. It was riddled with bugs at launch which hurt it's review scores but its since been patched. At the current price the game is a no brainer.

I would not be surprised if those end up being the true prices. Remember Sony initially took a loss on console sales this past gen and it ended up working perfectly for them. I think they have learned their lesson from thr PS3.

I'm all about the all digital version. I went all digital this generation and never looked back. Plus I already have a standalone 4K player.
I usually prefer physical media. But this may change my mind. I had to buy an external hard drive for PS4 anyway. The question is how expensive will a compatible SSD be?

I just bought six games, all physical. They haven't even shown up yet and I'm dreading having to change discs lol.

They're going to have to figure out expansion for sure.

Selling the digital for a loss makes good sense. They are guaranteed to get a piece of all sales on that unit. No more traded/rented/used games. Sony always gets their share now. This is probably offsetting the price of the consoles a bunch.

My guess is $99.99 for another 1 TB or 825 GB (wherever this number came from is beyond me).

I will say one thing I HATED about this past gen (and looks like this upcoming gen) is having to download/install the game after buying it. No more go to store, buy game, get home, pop in game, immediately start playing game. Especially since most games are 40+ GB and not to mention some being 100+ GB. This wasn't that big of an issue when I had fiber in Charlotte. Hopefully I can find a house in Knoxville with some good speedy internet. Cringing at the thought of going with Comcast again...

Based on the specs Sony put out. They need to be M.2 SSDs that have PCI Express 4. Those look to be about $200 for 1TB on Newegg. $130 will get you 500GB.

I'm expecting something just like what Microsoft is doing with the XSX: a slot in the back that you can insert an external drive into just like we used to do with the PS1 and 2. And I can tell you right now that if they sell those things at $200 each then I'm not buying a single extra external drive from them. I'll work around it.

They've already said they are going to use aftermarket SSD drives and will certify ones that work. You can use a usb external drive for you PS4 games. But PS5 will have to use one of the internal SSD drives. The upside to using aftermarket drives is the price will go down over time. The propietary ones are less likely to. But my guesss is both will be expensive initially.

As in external M.2 SSD drives? I'm assuming they will need a cord to connect it to the console.

Internal for PS5 games, in an expansion bay. Here is the quote.

"We will be supporting certain M2 SSDs," Cerny confirmed. "These are internal drives that you can get on the open market and install in a bay on the PS5. They connect through the custom IO unit just like our SSD does, so they can take full advantage of the decompression, IO co-processors, and all the other features I was talking about. Here's the catch though: that commercial drive has to be at least as fast as ours. Games that rely on the speed of our SSD need to work flawlessly with any M2 drive."

The stock PS5 SSD reads at 5.5GB/s, while most PCIe 3.0 M2 SSDs on the market today hover between 3GB/s and 4GB/s. However, Cerny and Sony expect PCIe 4.0 SSDs capable of speeds of up to 7GB/s to be readily available by the end of the year. These are the kinds of drives PS5 owners will need to purchase if they want to expand their SSD storage, but only specific drives will work. Additional drives need to fit the PS5's installation bay, for one, and the internals also need to be compatible.

Hah! Yep, going to be expensive and not worth it for a few years. PCIe 4.0 just came out and, with how computer hardware is, it will take quite a while for their prices to go down.
