It’ll be interesting to see how they decide who gets what game. If we have to travel to Penn State I’ll be keeping fingers crossed for the noon kickoff.
Ua, you definitely don't want a nighttime white out there. That place is crazy for those night whiteouts been to two...that's one more than I should have

There has to be some sort of movement after the championship games. What if Ohio State beats Oregon? Are they going to leave Oregon at #1 and OSU at #2? I think the idea of not punishing them is more along the lines of not missing the playoff field, as long as they are a deserving playoff team.
Ohio State will be conf champion so 1
Oregon will become the 5th seed.

#FightOn this weekend. That loss to NIU should count as 2 losses . The fact that they lost at home to the 7th best team in the MAC should be a deal breaker.
Also, since that loss, the only decent teams they have played were two service academies and a four loss Louisville team that lost at Stanford. It's not like they have been racking up victories over highly ranked teams.

Go to the Blue Field of Boise State or Bloomington.

A couple of well placed losses over the next two weeks and we will be hosting!

I know, I was referring to the actual rankings rather than seeding. My point is that the conference championship game loser moving down in the rankings is to be expected and is not indicative of being punished, so to speak. Also, a lot of folks have brought up not wanting to play in the conference championship game as the risk outweighs the reward. If you look at the Big 10, the loser of that game really has an easier path in the playoffs, particularly for Oregon. If you are Oregon, you can either win the CCG, get the one seed along with the first round bye but have to play the 8/9 winner second round(which is likely to be an SEC/B10/Notre Dame) or lose the CCG, get the 5 seed and play someone like Arizona State then Boise St to get to the semifinals.

I know this has absolutely no chance of remotely becoming reality but it would be hilarious if our fans strategically bought resale tickets, wore orange and turned the whiteout into a checkerboard. 😂

This is what I'm worried about......this committee seems so desperate for a B1G 10 champ they'll pair up SEC foes right off the bat to knock each other out......it's bad enough we already filet one another throughout the year, but the B1G touting has been ridiculous by the media, polls, and committee members.
That’s something to expect.

The Big 10 should be equally worried about getting knocked out by BYU, Boise State, Notre Dame, or (ACC). The Big 10 wants to be a power broker, but Penn State and Indiana have to play a good team eventually. I don’t think home field saves either of them.

Hope you're right bro......it's almost like these talking heads and University heads are desperate to get a B1G 10 champ just to say "See!!!! We're equal to the SEC!!! We told you!!!.......and no scandal this time."

You’re right. They haven’t really played anyone all year. I’ll give them that they won at aTm . That’s a good win, but it was also Elko’s first game as HC and they have since changed QB’s. The more I think about, the more I think we would hit the Irish in the mouth if given the opportunity.

I think it is very unlikely that there will be a rematch in the first round. This is the chance to showcase the new CFP at college venues. You’re going to get the matchups we’ve never had before. At least that’s how I see it.
Agree with this. I mean, this is like a whole new world of possibilities. Now, I can definitely see a scenario where we play Texas in the 8/9 matchup (I'm projecting that UGA beats them again). It would be 2 SEC teams, but not a rematch. and talk about ratings!

Despise Penn State. I didn’t like them as a kid in the 70s and still recall them taking TB behind the woodshed after 1993 season in bowl game.

I could see them do a white out in their like playoff game but I like our chances
I never had anything against them until the whole pedo thing. I’m convinced that the entire coaching staff and administration knew about it and covered it up at Paterno’s guidance. Haven’t pulled for them since.

You think Paterno knew he was raping boys and so did the administration and the coaching staff, but they agreed to let it continue at Paterno's behest? That's some pretty crazy stuff for which there's not any evidence. No decent human being would agree to do that

Makes it all the more easy to spot the orange tho
You mean the black, blue, or gray coats.
As I’ve been told here many times, most Vol fans don’t own orange coats and don’t want to buy one or wear something Orange over their coats.
And it will be freezing cold in late December at State College, Bloomington, or South Bend.
This, my friend, is a losing battle.

Not sure about raping. But I believe he knew that Sandusky showered with young boys. I think the PSU administration knew that too.

I think that's exactly what will happen...these are clearly the 2 best teams as we sit here going into the last week of the season. One losing to the other shouldn't change that. Winner gets the 1 seed, loser gets 5 seed.

Ohio State will be conf champion so 1
Oregon will become the 5

Why would you doubt that? He asked "what if OSU beats Oregon"

Oregon wouldn't be 5th with one loss to a #1 team?
I doubt it

Yes, Oregon would be number 5 or lower. The top four seeds will be the conference winners for the ACC, Big 10, Big 12, and SEC.

Yeah. Plus they brought in Franklin, who wasn’t forthcoming during Vandy rape case. My best friend was over facilities’, including the dorm in question. Disgusting

This x 1000. It's kind of why, despite the screaming against this of everyone on here, I'd love to see Alabama get the 12-seed if Penn State is the 5-seed thinking they're in the catbird seat. And you all might hate me for saying it, but I'd root like hell for Bama to kick their ass.

The Big 10 has been riding 2 really good teams and 2 pretenders all season, while the rest of the league is a hot mess, and pretending they are on the same level as the SEC. My rooting interest aside from UT in this playoff is for Big 10 teams to be humiliated.

SEC games are watched by more people through the season, but Ohio State might be the most watched team (far more than Notre Dame) nationwide.

If the network execs had their ideal matchup for the championship, it would probably be OSU and a (not-Georgia) SEC team. Question is, if that SEC team became Texas, could anyone else in the SEC stand to watch them?
@BruisedOrange Why non-Georgia for network execs? Genuinely curious
