Should we handle business Saturday, we're in. And there is still a possibility we could host. Looking at the playoff schedule the powers that be do not seem to have previously affixed which games would be played on which days/times in the first round. I presume that's because TV networks will cherry pick which match-ups they want once the field is set. Anyone seen anything different that disputes that? Hopefully, we don't end up with the Friday game. I'm flying back into BNA from DC that night.
  • First round (Dec. 20-21)
    • Friday, Dec. 20: 8 p.m. | ABC/ESPN
    • Saturday, Dec. 21: 12 p.m. | TNT
    • Saturday, Dec. 21: 4 p.m. | TNT
    • Saturday, Dec. 21: 8 p.m. | ABC/ESPN

Anywhere but Athens for the first round game. After that bring it.

This is what I'm worried about......this committee seems so desperate for a B1G 10 champ they'll pair up SEC foes right off the bat to knock each other out......it's bad enough we already filet one another throughout the year, but the B1G touting has been ridiculous by the media, polls, and committee members.

It’ll be interesting to see how they decide who gets what game. If we have to travel to Penn State I’ll be keeping fingers crossed for the noon kickoff.
If we don’t host i pray we go to happy valley and stomp them. My hatred for them grows each week they barely scrape by and stay at 4

I think we’re better than they are, but I really don’t want to go up there and play in a night game white out .

Don’t forget ESPN is the one who owns the rights to the CFP. It’s not going to maximize viewing to have a rematch that was played just a month ago. I’m guessing if we do play a conference game it would against Texas.

I dont see this Happening. UGA has to play in SEC championship game. If they win they will move up. Of they lose, they will move down a bit you would think. I get it the media doesnt want the committee to punish teams for conference championship games. I would still expect movement from it a bit.

Other than the Friday game, I think it's unlikely a night game would be played in the eastern time zone. And if Notre Dame is playing the first round, I can see them getting a prime time spot.

If they get 3 losses it will be interesting to see if they get moved out of that 5-8 range.

#FightOn this weekend. That loss to NIU should count as 2 losses . The fact that they lost at home to the 7th best team in the MAC should be a deal breaker.

If they do that there is a good chance 2 Big 10 could play in the first round as well. On the flip side that would guarantee at least one in final 8.

But ESPN has no say in the matchups...
I think it is very unlikely that there will be a rematch in the first round. This is the chance to showcase the new CFP at college venues. You’re going to get the matchups we’ve never had before. At least that’s how I see it.

Despise Penn State. I didn’t like them as a kid in the 70s and still recall them taking TB behind the woodshed after 1993 season in bowl game.

I could see them do a white out in their like playoff game but I like our chances

SEC games are watched by more people through the season, but Ohio State might be the most watched team (far more than Notre Dame) nationwide.

If the network execs had their ideal matchup for the championship, it would probably be OSU and a (not-Georgia) SEC team. Question is, if that SEC team became Texas, could anyone else in the SEC stand to watch them?

There has to be some sort of movement after the championship games. What if Ohio State beats Oregon? Are they going to leave Oregon at #1 and OSU at #2? I think the idea of not punishing them is more along the lines of not missing the playoff field, as long as they are a deserving playoff team.
