Players Let Go?

Marijuana is very much so addictive. It causes liver cancer. It kills thousands of motorists per year due to its impairing effects. Young female teenagers around the world are pregnant or young mothers due to the impairing effects of marijuana, only to get abused by their belligerent pot-addicted husbands they married out of wed lock.

Wait a second...

one of the best posts .... except that i think most people, aside from mormons 150 years ago and some current-day muslims, are married out of wedlock ...

He was making a very obvious juxtaposition with alcohol, hence the "wait a minute.." As in: "wait a minute, all of that I just said actually applies to alcohol, not pot."

I'm still wondering why GJones was puking. We need to analyze this because it truly shows he was hung over from the night before. Now if he woulda laid off the alcohol and just stuck with MJ, this would not have happened. So it looks to me like CLK should have his players lay off the booze and stick with MJ. Rico probably had a pounding headache from HIS hangover and just snapped because of it. Obviously, he left the practice field, burned one, calmed down, came back and apologized for his lack of self control and was all good for the rest of practice.

we know Colquitt needs to lay off the booze

Neurotransmitters control the levels of Serotonin in the brain. As most of you scholars of the ganja know, Serotonin increases in the brain when you smoke, giving you the high. However, your brain will adapt to the increase in Serotonin levels and decide not to produce as much. That is why you have to smoke more to get a high the more you use. Then, when you stop smoking, your brain no longer produces the level needed for proper emotional function(felling good) then comes the depression. That leads a person to smoke more to "feel normal". That, my scholars of the ganja, is addiction.
after that insightful answer I doubt anyone on this board will ever and i mean never touch weed again :tease2:

For that matter you could also call Cigarettes or Coffee a gateway drug.

How many weed smokers do you know that don't also smoke cigarettes? Or haven't ever had a cup of coffee? The correlations are loose IMO. Yes, a lot of end users of the higher-end drugs like Crack, heroin, etc smoked marijuana before they got addicted to those hard drugs, but they probably also smoked Cigarettes and/or drank booze. Are those gateway drugs too? The only reason Weed is seen as a "gateway drug" and those aren't, is because the other 2 are legal. To get weed, you have to go to a drug dealer, who often supplies multiple drugs. Once you get involved with characters that are unsavory and nefarious, lots of bad things can happen. I am not saying all drug dealers are bad, or that all drug culture is bad, but the whole gateway drug thing is overblown. It is more of a gateway to the drug culture, which will then lead to harder drugs if you choose to pursue them.

If weed was legal, it would not be a "gateway drug."

What about guys like myself that do smoke, but never drink? I also have never smoked a cig in my life.

I f any of it is true good for Lane and who says Rico is a star at this point in his UT career you would have to say very overrated. We have lacked discipline for years over there. So maybe now we can start seeing some players held accountable and if need be show them the door early on.

In the history of man has this arguement ever worked? It's not as bad as jabbing an icepick into your eye either.

Yeah, it works. We don't see any bi-weekly discussions on how bad Alcohol is or how it's clearly a gateway to skid row.
