You are wrong at the moment. Timing is bad. They are gonna support the team and players due to an obligation to the university that gave them an education and a chance to improve their lives. They inherently know that if Jones is of bad character it'll catch up to him. Actually some things go without words being said,...like 12 players from 2014 class no longer on the roster. I can't say if this is par for the course or not. Somebody may have some statistical info on the matter but it seems high IMO. If some former players speak out publicly against CBJ you can bet they aren't playing pro ball. It's just a tight-knit fraternity that uniformly knows that it's something you just don't do. Doesn't mean the feeling isn't there though. While I do agree with you that there are other way's to vent your frustration and this is not the best way to do so. I think a lot of Jones's former players are going to be speaking out against him. Right or wrong
We've got 5 of espn's top 300. 8 SEC teams ahead of us that have a minimum of 10 in recruiting. No foresight at UT it appears. The magnitude of this SC loss hasn't hit home yet. Little by little and week by week our expectations of team 120 are lowered to an acceptable level. where does it end 8-4, 7-5 ? The fans will quit showing up if changes aren't made and I really and truly think this staff thinks things are A-OK. 1 OLineman committed so far.Byrd is implying this team is not having fun.
It's not just losing. It's the amount of building uncertainty.
Butch is about to drag this Tennessee program even lower than people think we are right now.
Butch is getting paid regardless.
Win or lose this man has 13 million $ securing him here.
He's not going to change. And we're going to lose again.
The players can't stand CBJ. I can't tell my sources of course and you don't have to believe me. Why do you think so many players have left in the past. Especially Tennessee recruits. He's such a salesman till you get here then it's all degrading you. It's not about playing time. It's about how he goes about giving you PTime. They can see he doesn't know what he's doing but feel trapped. Do I leave and let my team down my family down. Lose my paid schooling.
I second all you said. He wasn't going to sacrifice his body and pro career for a lying ex-vinyl salesman. Time will tell. One would obviously think that being one of the best players at the position at UT--given the status of the Volunteer program as one of the 10 best programs of all time--would be a necessary requirement for AA candidacy....Is that being unreasonable?
Foster had AA talent, but a total lack of dedication while he was here....and Yet--he found the motivation to prepare himself to make MILLIONS and did so in the NFL after leaving...and I think he was a NFL leading rusher one year, wasn't he???
You just don't find that kind of talent in the off-season--you either have it or you don't....
Foster had it at UT--but was his own worst enemy...but still flashed brilliant on the field at times....
Bryce Brown had it too....and made it to the NFL....but didn't do squat for us....
It is my opinion that HURD does have AA talent and is much better than those two RBs....
Regardless of our differences in opinion--HURD doesn't deserve to be CRAPPED on like the masses are doing to him on here.....
And once again--I DO NOT AGREE with him leaving the program....But I also think that CBJ lied thru his teeth to HURD at the end of last season and before the Bowl game to keep him here......
:salute:
I have sources also and they disagree with your statement. It seems odd that most of these new come lately posters think they know so much about Tennessee football, Tennessee players and Tennessee coaches. A lot of these posters have source which could be better Alabama, Georgia or Florida fans or insiders
Fils-Aime was in the game the play after Kelly ran for 50+ yds. and was winded. He replaced Kelly, not Hurd. The momentum turning fumble occurred the only play i recall #27 playing at all. Maybe Dobbs did blame Hurd. It's a damn shame either way it goes now. Our chance to win the east is all but gone. Can't we see at this moment the division that is being created here ? Half praising Hurd, half bashing him as quitter. Let's get over it and finish the season united to some degree. GBO!!!Well... it is likely he pulled himself out of the game....and as a result Fils-Aime was in the game and caused the fumble with the collision with Dobbs. Word is Dobbs came off the field and gave Hurd the business as a result.
Putting the loss on him may be too much, but if he did pull himself out.... which it's been said that he does this.... then he's part of the blame.
How could they say they were leaving because of the staff. That would be killing your chances with a new school and team. You can't come out and say something bad about your boss unless you want to be fired. I guarantee you when CBJ Is gone there will be players, coaches and longtime former VFL's come out and say what I said. They just can't do it right now.

I took what Byrd said as meaning that now that the diva is gone, they can finally get back to having fun instead of having to deal with Jalen's apparent lack of teamwork and team building skills. Yeah, that's taking a lot from a little but, just the way i took it.Byrd is implying this team is not having fun.

I actually wasn't ranting against CBJ but responding to a post asking if former players were going to come forward and down talk the coach. As i stated, i don't think they will. My opinion of CBJ is not positive but time will tell. I have cautiously praised both he and Debord lately all the way up to the Bama game. I've changed my screen name due to buying new computer but there are enough posts on my new account to verify how i feel through this season. I am gonna quit posting though. I believe in unity and harmony, not the division i'm seeing here.Attrition occurs at every school and especially Alabama. There re a number of ex Alabama players starting for over D1 schools, including SEC teams. When a school signs 30-34 players in consecrative years one expects a larger number of players leaving. One still has to look at where Tennessee football is now and where it was 4 years ago. I dont think that having half of your starters occur because player dont like their coach. Why would JRM, Sutton, and Kamara turn down the NFL and come back to play for a coach they did not like? Your rant against CBJ seems to like creditability.
I know a lot of nonstarters hated hearing his "we have no depth" excuses his first couple years
