Pitt game in '22 may get tougher

If you thought we got problems facing them next year........they gotta play US next year. We are NOT the same team we were when we started the season. Another off season to practice and reload? Boy howdy.......

Pitt hasn’t been a powerhouse since the Johnny Majors days, maybe Marino. They stole one from us this year. That’s it. Quota has been met. Time to go back to being what we are supposed to be and pound them next year.

Pitt's best player that day were the ACC refs......13 penalties and several bad marks vs the Vols that day.

I think that's less tough than facing a Kenny Pickett-led offense again next year.

I mean, I didn't hear about Slovis being invited to the Heisman induction ceremony. Could be wrong about that, but don't think I am.

Yea, Pickett played a damn near perfect game against us. Matter of fact, Pitt as a team played near perfect. We'll repay next season........

they lose alot after this year. This team is gonna go into Pittsburgh looking for blood with most of our offense returning. I think we beat them down next year

Hooker will play the entire game next season. The game will be a lot tougher for Pitt. Go Volunteers!!!!
Exactly and with a full year of experience running the show. EVERYONE will have a full year and more comfort with the schemes. Also, Heupel will expand the playbook from now until the first game next fall. It will only get more fun to watch this O.

UT outside of Pickett was the better team this year. Pickett was a very talented guy and 4 year starter. UT will both be the better team and have the better QB next fall. I believe it will be a very ugly game for Pitt.

Pitts entire OL coming back, there's 2-3 NFL guys there. That should have everyone a little worried. Slovis, not so much.

To be fair, at this time last year you likely hadn't heard of Kenny Pickett, at all, let alone as a Heisman candidate.

Slovis has a gun for an arm! But he's not Pickett! His scrambling is not on par with Pickett! Pitt minus Pickett or Ole Miss without Corral?? We win by 21

Yeah, but that means nothing about our chances against a team led by Slovis.

Just because Pickett was relatively unknown then, and Slovis is relatively unknown now, that in no way implies Slovis is going to be any good. Much less Heisman consideration good. Bad QBs start out relatively unknown, too.

There's a name for that kind of logical error...something to do with a false equivalency, I'm thinking.

We gonna whup dey butts. Go Vols!

Well, it isn't really a false equivalency because I'm not saying that Slovis is going to be good at Pitt simply because Pickett was good at Pitt. At least it isn't any more of a false equivalency than you suggesting that Slovis won't be as productive as Pickett at Pitt because he wasn't invited to the Heisman ceremony, this year.

I'm just saying that Slovis has an opportunity to have a similar impact at Pitt as a true senior that Pickett did as a 5th-year senior. In fact, thru their freshman, sophomore, and junior years, Slovis has equal or better numbers in eight fewer games.

Slovis:
7576 yds, 58 TDs, 24 INTs in 27 career games

Pickett (minus his 4-game true freshman season):
7475 yds, 38 TDs, 24 INTs in 35 career games

And in the interest of full disclosure, just because Slovis has the opportunity doesn't mean he'll take full advantage of it, either.

Hooker to Tillman.. TOUCHDOWN TENNESSEE.

That'll happen in Pittsburgh, Sept 3. Dang I might just start driving so I can be there at kickoff.
